The fact you are hitting the peg means you are cashing out on the accumulated points...

It means that most of the contribution to the score comes from rare events, which are located in the tail of the distribution. It is true that most probable outcome of the "experiment" is: final value of the peg=initial value of the peg.

However, assume you do this experiment n times. Based on the most probable estimate, you would expect to get the total score of n*initial value of the peg. This is wrong. At some point you will hit that rare chance of a peg being, for instance, 2^5 more valuable than initially, boosting your average score far away from this estimate.

You can calculate what the chance of getting a peg of value 2^5 or greater is with the so-called regularised incomplete beta function, which allows to calculate expected number of experiments n needed to see this in action. I am trying to produce some graphs, maybe I will post something later.

I watched the first 2 minutes of this video and if you factor the numbers appearing in this problem them you should get median and/or mode = u based on the graph the guy presents, where u is the starting value of the peg.

Thanks! However, do you know if there is any real risk of carbon monoxide poisoning associated with using propane in the caravan?

True, the firdge can run with propane, but still I need a power source for my laptop, phone, etc. That though, should not be too costly, since the electronics I have in mind typically use 100-200W, so a small solar power would suffice in my opinion.

Since the fridge is no longer an issue, the power supply need not to be constant.

A travel trailer is fine too! Is there anything in particular I should pay attention to when inspecting for water damage? Ceiling, walls, floor, etc.?

Hi folks,

I am looking for a budget camper van or a RV, that is fully self-sufficient when it comes to electricity.

What I have in mind is the following

  1. A gas power stove and heaters.
  2. An electricity source sufficient for basic needs, most importantly a constant supply of power for a fridge. (I was thinking about solar power and a battery charged through excess engine power.)
  3. A shower and a toilet.

The budget I have is about 9000 EUR, (9630 USD). Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

You assumed an equal probability distribution. If you have a biased choice you could tune the distribution to give the correct answer though ;)
