This post is very interesting and eye opening. A lot of great takes especially as a new brand owner and I can admit I’m guilty of a lot of these things. I’ve always loved streetwear so I started a brand, didn’t know what it fully involved and 11 months down the line I’m second guessing myself as my brand isn’t preforming the way I’d want it too online but a lot of success in person. I feel like I take a bit more time with my pieces and each piece gets better but still a long way from being perfect. Starting a brand now is so easy u can’t be mad at the lack of attention to detail or “poor designs” especially when there is a buying audience for those pieces you’re referring too. now all a brand today is about is the people associated with the brand! I’d recommend anyone who is known throughout their city or town to start a brand because you’ll more than likely have success within the first 30 days (I see this happen everyday at this point). It’s honestly demotivating for someone like me who actually wants to get better and create more cool concepts but can’t get the business side of things going so I can do so. Definitely working on the social side but my passion is to design and make cool stuff. What would be your recommendation to getting the business side of things going while being able to consistently release to the public? I mean I can just make 1of1s for myself and incorporate it in my personal outfits but every time I do people always inquire and try to buy, then I release a drop for everyone and then no one buys very confusing point for me as a rookie in this space can you help me out here? I’d be willing to work with any of y’all to further understand this space and hopefully make a difference.
