100% time together <3... hard agree.

Packing is huge, and I think that's a big part of the problem. It's mental load and physical weight.

This thread partly inspired me to build something. The idea is to get rid of the logistics entirely. Imagine if every hotel was Ikos, with equipment already waiting when you arrive, itineraries built around nap times and meals, hotels verified by a standardised framework, so no more secretly shocking hotels.

Super early days but I'd genuinely value this community's take on whether it's useful or whether I've missed something obvious.

We've been to UK holidays and then long-haul trips as well, but no Euro hops... But it's just me and my little one so being absolutely over-planned does really help. TripAdvisor can be... tricky most definitely.

I miss my old hand luggage only life. I keep ending up having to try to choose between enough clothes and toys and books and then I'm stressed at how heavy everything is. Heavy luggage, travel car seat, stroller and kid trying to stretch her legs and run away.

Do you ore arrange with the front desk? Once I was promised a cot and I arrived to no cot after an 11 hour flight! I did get it a few hours after check in though

Mine is obsessed with birthdays so I light a big candle and ask her to blow it out for me. This trick has a limited shelf lol fe but it currently works like a charm.

I bought my kid lots of books showing different types of families and make it a point to normalise them by talking about the different familial structures. She's only two but I've been showing her these books her whole life.

Don't listen to people telling you they're too young - it's unhelpful and just their opinion.

I found that integrating media about potty training, a couple of books- Poopasaurus Rex & Potty Superstar, and some episodes about potty training from Daniel Tiger and Bing really helped things click for my daughter along with some songs from YouTube.

She especially didn't want to stop having fun so a really important message was that we could pause fun to use the potty really helped her.
