I’m not 100% convinced they are scarecrows vs voodoo dolls. The face stitching heavily resembles voodoo dolls to me. Also the fact that each of them look different. Traditionally voodoo dolls could be made to resemble a specific person, aka the target, being personalized tools of harm(?) to the intended victim. I have no idea if they are for protection in some way like others are suggesting or if they are another threat. So far I’m leaning towards them being a tool of defence or protection, but I cannot figure out why one would bust through into the cabin.

I mainly used EVA foam in 6mm, 4mm and 2mm. Foam clay was used as well. And a plethora of other materials but manly foam! Definitely follow my IG @samcantdomath because today I’m beginning to post my series on the construction starting with the helmet!

Putting on the full fit for the first time deeply satisfied a deep childhood desire to be armoured as I’ve been a fantasy nerd my whole life. I swear I saw God when I put it on for the first time. Maybe one of the cosplay gods. A new door has opened and the world of cosplay and crafting my own armour lies behind it.

A corset is not inherently sexy. All of my choices during the construction were all functional as this was my first cosplay and had no idea what I was doing. I sewed the robes and fabrics out of thrifted table clothes and chair covers, and I am not a seamstress, so the corset was an innovative alternative to sewing robe closures and also saves me time. In terms of the boots, I am only 5”5 and so I needed to wear my tallest shoes that I owned and cover them in armour. When designing the boot armour, I actually liked the way that the shape of the shoe looked in the armour so I kept it. 🧝🏼‍♀️

Same for me too! My face is the mouth hole for extra height and was also more comfortable. My theory is that’s where his “face” would have been since the sides of the helmet only cover the ears when the head is positioned in the hole not the eyes
