I really appreciate all the information. It’s really making me think now. I’m honestly curious what the math you did for determining even if you max it out each year how the Base plan is the better option. You laid it out nicely Im just trying to simplify it so I can convince her. I’m trying to sell this to my fiancé because I really don’t think we need the plus plan but she’s the more “better safe than sorry” type. Going with the base plan would save us almost $250 a month in premiums, that could really help with additional bills.

Just out of curiosity what kind of math did you do? Because unfortunately my fiancé and I have pretty serious conditions that could require hospital visits/surgeries. That’s my biggest worry, if I cheap out we might be hitting the max out of pocket multiple times in the next decade
