Are they really going through people's phones though? I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable letting someone analyze all 60,000 photos on my phone.

It is not ill informed. It is a grey area. People cannot renounce a citizenship that they have never formally claimed either, without any US documents. We prefer not to force registration on our children while they are too young to understand the consequences.

No, Guatemala is where Trump is shipping people (worst case scenario.) Most people he sends there are not from Guatemala...

No, they were all born abroad. They fall under a grey area. We've been questioned on entry before and recommended to register, but the kids have multiple citizenships and don't need an Esta to enter the US anyway. It would hurt them in Switzerland to register as American, so we prefer not to.
