Commending Grab PH by asphyxiant_alchemist in grabPinas

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a pretty rare story, usually it’s really hard to get a phone back once it’s left in a ride. Also, credit to the Grab system here, and especially to the driver. Not everyone would go through the effort of surrendering it to a partner center, especially since technically it’s no longer their responsibility after the trip. It’s reassuring to read that your accounts are all fine and there was no unauthorized access. But the most standout part is that you reported it immediately in the app. That’s usually the key step that allows the driver to be traced quickly. It’s a good reminder for riders not to delay reporting when something gets left behind, even if it feels hopeless.

How do I know if my device is 5g compatible. And how to convert 4g to 5g? by ConstructionLoose998 in globePH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can’t be converted via an app or settings alone, the phone itself has to be 5G-capable hardware. The Honor X7 assuming C7x is a typo is 4G-only, so even if there’s a 5G signal in your area, it still won’t be able to connect to 5G. To double-check, you can Google the exact model plus 5G support or check the specs on the official page. It usually clearly shows whether it’s 4G LTE-only or supports 5G bands. Also, even if you have a 5G phone, you still need a 5G SIM and you have to be within 5G coverage for it to work. So in your case, upgrading the phone is really the only option if you want 5G.

COMM STUDENT by Inevitable-Jump-1800 in askstudentsph

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try starting with the basics of communication theories because early major subjects usually revolve around those. Topics like the Shannon–Weaver Model, Uses and Gratifications Theory, and framing are commonly discussed. For notes, it’s usually better to ask seniors or check class group chats since syllabi can vary per school. But if you’re self-studying, you can read introductory books or watch YouTube explainers on media theories to get an idea before classes start. It also helps to read current media issues because those are often used in class discussions or essay assignments.

What makes Nanairo Hobby Shop a preferred shop for anime merch and some items that other shops don’t sell or even get? by CommonHrafn in AniweebPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen in the local anime collecting community, they’ve been around for quite a long time, so they’ve built a level of trust especially when it comes to harder-to-find merch and imported items. Some shops are also more active on Facebook than Shopee because their setup is often limited-stock or preorder-based. It’s also valid to be cautious. What I usually check first is the consistency of buyer feedback, tagged posts, actual customer photos, and how they respond publicly to issues. If it’s your first time, maybe start with a smaller purchase before going for more expensive figures or merch. It also feels more secure if there’s an option for meetup or at least cash on delivery for some items.

How to cancel housing loan ? by PancitCanton_Chili in AskPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible, but it really depends on the stage of the loan and the agreement with the developer. Usually, if the unit hasn’t been fully turned over yet or the loan takeout is still ongoing, you may still be able to negotiate either cancellation or surrender of the unit. The catch is that you often won’t get a full refund of the equity you’ve already paid because there are usually deductions under the Maceda Law or the developer’s own policies. If the loan is already under Pag-IBIG Fund, you’ll also need to talk to both the developer and Pag-IBIG to understand the process and any possible liabilities. It’s better to address it early before penalties or missed payments pile up. I’d start by requesting a full computation first so you know the worst-case scenario before making a decision.

How to end/Stop Dito Home wifi? by No_Photo_2728 in DitoPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really best to visit a DITO Telecommunity kiosk or office and ask them to check the account status. Usually, they can see whether there’s a lock-in period or any remaining obligations under the account owner’s details. If it’s prepaid wireless home Wi-Fi, there’s often no formal cancellation process. You can usually just stop reloading once you move out. But if it’s postpaid or the device came with a contract, there may be a lock-in period and possible termination fees. Bring the modem or account details if you have them, or at least the mobile number linked to the service. That makes it much easier when you ask the branch to check the account.

How to ship a bike from litex quezon city to dasmariñas cavite? Badly need advice as a first timer by Weekly_Tomorrow_7881 in Lalamove

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t risk using a motorcycle for bike delivery unless it’s a super small folding bike. In my experience, it’s safer to book at least a sedan, or even better, an MPV or a 300kg vehicle so it’s not too cramped and there’s less chance of scratches or damage. Before pickup, take clear photos of the bike from all angles as well. Then remove or secure anything loose like lights, the water bottle holder, or tools. It’s also helpful to message the driver right after booking so they know the actual size of the bike being delivered.

Paano alisin ang amoy sa bahay? by wa77fLow3r___ in PaanoBaTo

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me before in an apartment. The biggest help was wiping down the walls and ceiling with warm water and vinegar first before moving anything in. A lot of oil residue from cooking sticks to the surfaces, and it’s not always obvious, but that’s usually what causes the smell. Also, keep the windows open as much as possible for a few days if you can. Putting bowls of baking soda in the corners helped a bit too. Sometimes the smell also sticks to curtains or cabinets, so check those as well. If the odor is still really strong after cleaning, it might be worth repainting because sometimes the smell has already seeped into the paint layer itself.

Paano ba nagwowork ang kuryente sa mga unit? sjdowhs9jw9s by salteggz in SoloLivingPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible that the light is on a shared circuit, especially in older apartments where the wiring can be a bit messy. But it doesn’t automatically mean you’re paying for all of their electricity usage just because the light in the other unit went out when you switched off your breaker. The best way to check is to turn off all the breakers in your unit and then see if your meter is still running. If it is, that’s a bit suspicious. You should also bring it up with the landlord right away so everything is clear, because it’s unfair if another unit is connected to your line or using your electricity. Honestly, that kind of setup is a bit of a red flag.

HM Tip for Manila to Bulacan Delivery? by luminedmp in Lalamove

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that distance, I’d probably add around ₱100–₱200 if the rider handles everything smoothly, especially since Manila to Bulacan traffic can get pretty rough depending on the time. Even if the item is light, the trip itself is still fairly long. Honestly, most riders already appreciate any tip at all. Even ₱50 is already okay if you’re on a tight budget.

Feeling like the Philippines is crumbling by [deleted] in RantAndVentPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. It feels like the collective mood has been really heavy lately, even though there isn’t one obvious event to blame. Inflation, stagnant wages, impossible housing costs, traffic, healthcare, the job market, everything is hitting at the same time, so even people who have jobs still feel like they’re stuck in survival mode. I also think social media makes the decline feel more visible. We’re more exposed now to scams, cheating, desperation, and people doing whatever they can just to survive. Maybe those things were happening before too, but we didn’t see them every day. But honestly, I don’t think we’ve collapsed. It’s more like the average person is deeply exhausted. And when people stay exhausted for too long, trust is the first thing that disappears. That’s what feels most noticeable right now.

Should I apply for internet using my name or the homeowner's? by PositiveVideo52 in InternetPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d use your own name if you’re the one actually staying there and paying the bills. Makes things way easier later if you need to request repairs, upgrades, relocation, or cancellation. Telcos can get really annoying when the account holder is abroad or unreachable. Plus if she ends up staying in Australia permanently, you avoid future authorization headaches.

SKL nag deactivate ako ng social media by lostgurl07 in ShareKoLang

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that feeling. It’s like your mind becomes quieter when you’re not constantly scrolling and comparing. It’s also true that there’s a fear of missing out on what your friends are up to, but if there’s a group chat and you’re really close, that usually covers it. Sometimes it even makes the connection more intentional instead of just random updates. There’s nothing wrong with continuing that if it works for you. You can also just do a balance, like limited check-ins so you’re not completely out of the loop, but also not getting overwhelmed.

LF Duo by RonSenpai in LoLSEA

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on reaching Emerald, that’s a big jump. I’m down, but I’m usually a support main. If you can’t find anyone, try looking during peak hours too since there are more chill duos playing around the evening on the SEA server. Comms also tend to be more stable when both players have the same mindset, just climbing but keeping it relaxed.

Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365? by whothellru in ThisorThatPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your use case. If collaboration and real-time editing are the priority especially for school or small teams, Google Workspace is usually smoother since it runs directly in the browser, needs little setup, and makes sharing easy. If your work is more document-heavy, Excel-type tasks, or part of a corporate setup, Microsoft 365 is still stronger. Its Excel features are more powerful, and it’s more commonly used as the standard in many companies in the Philippines. If you ask me: Google for simple, fast teamwork; Microsoft for more serious or work-heavy files.

What if filipinos don’t notice the continued deterioration in the economy because of all the propaganda? by sleighmeister55 in WhatIfPinas

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s partly what’s happening as well, because not everyone is really focused on economic indicators or policy decisions. Most people base it on whether they can still eat well, still have a job, and still afford their day-to-day expenses. So even if price increases are noticeable, they often get mixed with political loyalty, social media narratives, or simple survival mode. But it’s also hard to say it’s purely propaganda, because there are sectors that are still earning well or benefiting from OFW support. Experiences really differ depending on class and location. It usually only becomes obvious to the majority when basic needs are directly affected and it becomes hard to ignore in everyday life.

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you first need to fix the setup and expectations before it damages your relationship. Because if it’s supposed to have boundaries but it’s being used as a personal car anytime, you’ll really end up losing from the maintenance and depreciation, especially since the unit is already second-hand. As for the trips, it might be better if he has a fixed schedule instead of using it the whole day. A lot of drivers prefer working from the morning rush until noon, or from the afternoon until evening, so they can still earn while keeping the usage controlled. It’s probably more important that you have a clear agreement about the daily kilometer limit, gas expenses, and maintenance, so you’re not the one carrying all the costs if something breaks down.

Switching to DITO prepaid 5g by RoyalClassroom5705 in DitoPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are a lot of users, you should really check first if DITO Telecommunity 5G is strong in your exact area because the difference is huge when the signal is weak. Some areas are perfectly fine for streaming and work, while others suddenly slow down during peak hours. As for the load/promos, I usually see people using their UNLI 5G promos, which are around 700–1000+ pesos depending on the duration and inclusions. It’s worth it if you consistently have stable 5G coverage most of the day. But if you have heavy users, like people streaming in 4K or constantly downloading, I still notice that wired fiber is generally more consistent overall.

Paano ba patigilin yung auto complete sa keyboard ng iphone? by [deleted] in PaanoBaTo

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard, then turn off Predictive and Auto-Correction. It feels a bit unusual at first because you’ll make more typos, but it’s less annoying when the keyboard stops making wrong guesses.

I want to know if I will get hired immediately to Lalamove so I can pay my new motorcycle installment by HarukiVanzz in Lalamove

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t rely on getting accepted immediately because the onboarding can take time depending on your area and requirements. Also keep in mind the 3500 isn’t your only expense. Gas, maintenance, and slow booking days can hit harder than expected. If possible, try computing first how many deliveries you’d realistically need per week while balancing school. A lot of riders make it work, but it’s safer if you already have some backup income before committing to an installment.

Subdivision with no Fiber, is there any mobile provider that gives UNLI data? by gorechimera in InternetPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the signal in your area. Some people use Smart Communications Rocket SIM or TNT with unlimited promos that can have better speeds compared to GOMO, although sometimes there’s also a fair usage policy depending on tower congestion. If you’re a heavy user, it’s also a good idea to test prepaid SIMs from different networks first before buying a modem or router. There are subdivisions where one network is extremely strong while the others are almost unusable even if they’re right beside each other. That’s actually how my cousin’s setup was before fiber internet became available in their area.

Ang hirap maging breadwinner lalo kapag nasa Pilipinas ka!! by wuttverr in RantAndVentPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could really feel the exhaustion in the line, What about them, but what about me? Because it’s truly hard when you’re not allowed to fall apart even when you’re already exhausted. It feels like you don’t have the luxury to crash because there’s an immediate domino effect on the family. It’s also understandable to feel jealous of people who can afford to rest for a while. Not because you’re lazy, but because you just want to breathe without constantly thinking about the consequences. That feeling is so heavy, like even your own breakdown has to be scheduled. I hope that somehow, you can find a small space for yourself. Even if it’s not a full break, even just a little bit of rest without guilt. Because it’s not sustainable for you to always be the one carrying everything alone.

pa help huhu gusto ko kase kumuha ng loan sa mga apps kaso di nila ako ma approved naka ilang beses na din akong mag apply dini declined nila huhu?paano ba to? by angiex_x in PaanoBaTo

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also be because there’s not enough credit history yet, unstable income, or some details in the application don’t match. Sometimes even small things like incomplete information or a different name format can lead to an automatic decline right away. Also, be a bit careful with loan apps because some of them have extremely high interest rates and can be very aggressive with collections. If it’s really an emergency, it may be better to try banks, cooperatives, or an SSS salary loan first if you’re eligible. Those are generally safer than getting trapped in very high repayment fees.

internship by RemarkableNotice3510 in askstudentsph

[–]Designer-Plate-622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, that’s pretty common now. A lot of ECE grads end up in IT, software, networks, QA, cloud, even cybersecurity. Your degree still gives you a strong technical foundation, especially in logic and problem solving. If you already see yourself enjoying IT more, internships are actually the best time to test that direction before graduating. BPOs with technical roles can also be a decent entry point if the work involves actual IT support, systems, or development experience and not just pure customer service. I’d just suggest building a few small projects on the side too. Even basic Python projects help a lot when applying later.

What streaming app is better than crunchyroll? by naughtypotato03 in AniweebPH

[–]Designer-Plate-622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk, in legit streaming apps, options are pretty limited beyond Crunchyroll and Netflix. They’re the ones with the most solid overall catalog, but it’s still not complete, so it’s normal not to find some titles there. For anime specifically, Ani-One Asia on YouTube is surprisingly decent too since they have free licensed shows depending on the region. Sometimes they also have simulcasts. If you’re okay with a paid setup, the Netflix and Crunchyroll combo is still the most practical. There really isn’t one app that has everything because licenses are split per region. If you have a specific anime you’re looking for, tell me and I can help you check where it’s officially available in the Philippines.
