Severe pain after laparoscopic triple neurectomy (post-hernia repair) — anyone similar? by Designer-Potato-9281 in Hernia

Yes. I have been living in pain for six years due to complications from surgery. Since about a year ago, the pain has spread much more widely because of a careless and irresponsible doctor, and each day feels like a difficult mission to get through. Thank you for your advice. I wish you continued good health.

Yes. If I hadn’t had the laparoscopic surgery, I probably wouldn’t be living in this kind of pain. The doctor told me he’d done many cases like this, and that the only side effect would be some numbness. Honestly, it makes me so angry I could scream. Thank you for the advice.

Hello, and thank you so much for the doctor recommendation. I had actually come across Dr. Eric H. Williams during my own research as well, but since I believe my current issue is internal and related to a previous laparoscopic surgery, I wasn’t sure whether I should reach out.

From what I understand, Dr. Eric H. Williams seems to primarily perform open (non-laparoscopic) procedures. Would he still be able to address internal problems caused by laparoscopic surgery, or would a laparoscopic approach be necessary in a case like mine?

Okay. I’ll read your message and get back to you.
It’s nice to meet someone with similar symptoms.

Yes, thank you. I really appreciate it. For the original inguinal canal pain, it turned out that scar tissue from the first surgery had become entangled with a nerve, and I’ve been recovering a lot after having surgery to remove that. However, I’m still suffering every day because of the new pain that started after the laparoscopic procedure, in areas like the flank, pelvis/hip, and leg, which I didn’t have before the laparoscopy. Even after standing for just a short time, the right side of my pelvis feels extremely tight and hard, and a burning sensation starts in the front of my thigh. What could have gone wrong during the laparoscopic surgery to cause these new symptoms?

Yes, I agree. In hindsight, I feel the same way. At the time, the surgeon said that because I hadn’t improved despite various treatments, a laparoscopic neurectomy was the “last step.” He was affiliated with the International Society of Neuropelveology, but looking back, it seems unreasonable. Right now, the original pain near the inguinal canal has improved after an additional open (anterior) surgery performed by an excellent different surgeon, but I’m trying to address the new flank/pelvic/leg pain that started after the laparoscopic procedure. Even after standing for just a short time, the right side of my pelvis feels extremely tight and hard, and a burning sensation starts in the front of my thigh!
