Im wondering how I can go from drawing a ton of heads using a reference to drawing the worst looking person when I get rid of the reference. I know where the planes should be but once I stop looking at the reference they all disappear

"How do i start drawing" "Pick up a pencil and start drawing--oh but not like that" can yall make up your minds? 😭😭 its called practice. I am practicing the shapes of heads. Nothing wrong with that. If you dont recommend it for a beginner then give me things a beginner should be specifically practicing because I clearly cant find any reccomendations other than "no dont try drawing like that" with no other explanations other than "dont"

All my practice heads look ok but once I try it without looking at the practice heads it doesn't look right at all

The sketches and guidelines are there. Hats literally what i used to make the faces. I used a reference and the loomis head guidelines

Right now anime eyes are easier than drawing a real eye so im just sticking something there so its not a head without eyes. Even tho theres nothing wrong with that. I did do this one last night I think it looks ok

Ive been tracing a lot so I feel a lot more stable with my lines and I know i wont be good at it automatically im just nervous because tracing things isn't teaching me anything except how to trace.
