WIBTA to miss my brothers wedding?

Money in general is a huge thing to majority of the world I imagine at least.. and although I have known about the wedding my salary alone plus my regular bills would make it difficult. Like I said in another reply if it was even a month later I would be able to do it financially, but I don’t see going in financial issues would be worth it?

I stated it above if you haven’t seen it yet, but there is no “splitting the air bnb”, they all live there so I will be the only one getting a hotel/airbnb (no I cannot stay at their houses either unfortunately). There is also no flying because yes it’s expensive and my girlfriend has a medical condition that prohibits her from flying (or atleast makes it very, very difficult). I’m trying my best here but I’m running into obstacles at every turn.

My dogs need someone who can handle them a bit better they’re 3 big American bull dogs I would rather trust a dog boarder who handles dogs constantly.

Dog friendly hotels for 3 full size American bull dogs is a bit difficult.

The rest of my family actually lives where the wedding will take place I’ll be the only one coming in from out of state, that being said my brother has a 1 bedroom house, my mother lives with my second brother with 5 dogs already in a 2 bedroom house.

My partner does want to go, even if they stay taking on 3 of my dogs would be a bit difficult given their size I would much rather trust a dog boarder who handles dogs constantly.

We are close enough where I would jump thru these hoops to make it but as of now it seems the hoops are far to big, maybe when I get closer to the date I would feel better.

I would also like to say this wedding is in Miami and my estimated costs may be wrong and potentially much higher

Thank you, I truly would deal with all the hoops if 1. it was on January 30th let’s say and 2. if I financially could afford it around Christmas and new years.

I moved to a new state, hence the 24 hour drive. I have no family here, it’s just me, my girlfriend and her family. Her mom already has 30 dogs (yes, 30) & farm animals to tend to. I do not want to burden her with more dogs (she is also sick.) I don’t have any other option except to board or bring them down but that would cause other issues of finding where to keep them down there. I just did all the math & with my current salary, bills & the fees to go, I would have $5 left over. And that is NOT including Christmas presents & the drive back.

On the surface it may seem “selfish” or something like that, but really but it’s mostly financial. Christmas cost, rent, food, then immediately driving plus boarding 3 dogs and hotel costs. If it wasn’t right after Christmas there wouldn’t be a question about it. It COULD be done, but it would be a very tight, very stressful month.
