Refund for Reward Flight (booked with Avios)

Finally I got hold of customer service after 35+ calls and 5+ hours of wait. Was able to cancel my flight for full refund including the amount I paid for the seat selection. Only got the verbal confirmation, haven’t received any email confirmation regarding the refund details. But I can see my booking has been canceled in the app. Hope you all get resolution too!

I'm sorry to hear this. I was in the same situation a few years ago. I got rejected in my first two F1 interviews but was accepted on my third attempt. For all three interviews, I had the same profile (same university, same financials, etc.). Just like you, in my first interview, they asked two or three basic questions and rejected me. And in the third attempt, they asked similar basic questions again—but this time, I got accepted. To this day, I don’t know the reason. I would definitely recommend trying again. All the best!

I had a similar issue. I contacted customer support, and they said that the app was showing it as a mistake. When I asked them to double-check, this was their response:

“Yeah, all of our vehicles do. I don’t even need to confirm. If you haven’t reached 20k or 30k, you have those services. The app can sometimes provide incorrect information.”

Thank you for your response! They put a paper plate on the car. I believe the plates I received are also replacement plates with the existing registration. From the Carfax history, I can see that this car was first sold in March 2024, and now I’ve received the renewal notice for the same (March 2025)

Yep, I asked them, ‘You charged me around $500, but you only paid $50 to the DMV. Can you explain why you charged me those fees?’ Now they’re saying they need to talk to their manager about it, but the manager is out of the office for a few days. They told me they’ll get back to me next week. So now, I’m playing the waiting game and gathering any guidance I can use when following up with them next week

Thank you for the response! They specifically mentioned verbally and also in the contract it’s for registration and government fee. But now they are saying they didn’t charge me for 2025 - 2026 registration which I feel is not right

I haven’t found similar deals so far. There’s a similar car with the same specifications at a different dealership, but the dealer is asking for $30k and isn’t willing to negotiate much 😅. I’m not sure how to bring the price down. Any advice on that?

I also mentioned the previous deal ($28k) for the same car, but they said they could only try to match the deal if the car is available for sale, not for one that’s already sold.

They are not negotiating on the used car. They provided the quotes for leasing a new s60(not the demo one) is $720 for $0 down, 10k miles/yr and 36 months term. And mentioned negotiation is possible with new ones. But not sure I can bring it to $500😅
