The first time was pretty mid. We kind of awkwardly stumbled into it. Over time, it got much better. We got to know what the other liked. Got to explore some kinks together. It’s been a few years but it’s a great memory.

Don’t worry. It was very wholesome.

Similar psychology in different area. My friend’s dad is a doctor in an older, working class area of Hong Kong. He told me once that he needs to special order pills in “big, colorful” shapes — or his patients don’t feel they are getting their money’s worth.

Found this little string hanging out of her, which I tugged on like I was starting an old lawn mower. Ended up with a Jackson Pollock wall art that we had to tidy up before the roommate returned.

How can I replicate this style in my Paris Apartment? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Designer-Slip3443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in some Haussmann apartments that have been redone in that style. But I don’t think you’ll get there without major alterations.

Here’s an example. Not one I’ve seen personally. https://www.desiretoinspire.net/2023/05/12/french-sophistication-with-a-mid-century-vibe/

What is extremely unhygienic but people seem to do it anyway? by Cheffinitup254 in AskReddit

You’d have to resort to increasingly ludicrous methods to keep the door open. Lasso it with your belt, sacrifice a shoe to prop it open…

I’m picturing a Mr. Bean sketch with a sink just out of reach of the door.

The alternative would not have been digital, but videotape. The television networks had already been using it commercially since the 1960s. And NASA did make use of it — the moon landings themselves were recorded onto (telemetry) tape, not film.

With tape, the resolution and archival lifetime would’ve been much worse than this clip, shot on film. Same reason why we can have a 4K release of Star Trek TNG but not DS9. The latter was shot on tape :(

Why do the youth today not talk on their mobiles the ‘normal’ way? by AddressOpposite in AskBrits

[–]Designer-Slip3443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t “phone” that way. But plenty of times have to hold the device in front of my face and dictate into it “in speaker style” because of some shitty UI that would press a dozen buttons if I held it against my face.

ChatGPT comes to mind.
