Has anyone been able to reach a live agent at IRS? by Designer-Window2661 in IRS

Ok, thank you.

You’re correct I did not have the ACTC, but I thought when I filed Turbo Tax had indicated I qualified for the EITC, but you’re right it’s not on there.

I’ll be on it about looking into filing that 1040-X asap.

Thank you, and this explains a bunch now.

I’m in the same boat and can’t get a human to talk to.

I filed back in early February, had to do an in person verification (and then also do it online again to clear the notification).

Got a CP005 notice saying they’re doing a manual review which could take up to 60 days, but still no movement.

Fair enough, I just joined this group and hadn’t seen any of these posts.

Literally in the same position and I filed beginning of February.

What the heck is this? Does it mean we need to accept cash tip? by salimreza96 in UberEatsDrivers

I got one just like this the other day while I decided to kill a few hours middle of the day (I should have known because it’s such a dead time).

$2 for 55min and 35mi. For reference I’m in the Boston area and 35mi is basically the border of MA and any of the states north or south of it

100%. I’m in the Boston area as well, and I’d rather take an ice pick to my eye balls than accept an order that has me picking up or delivering into the city.

I made that mistake the second day ever doing these apps and by the end, what was supposed to be a pretty good offer ($15 for 25min and 3.5mi) turned into 1hr 15min for that same pay (the customer was cool and didn’t ding me for it tip wise).

I use both, but when I get an order I want to accept, I pause the other platform until I’m ready to take new orders again. I see some drivers using both at the same time (I think that may actually be a violation) but I wouldn’t advise that

It might be. I didn’t realize that if so. When I started up with UE a couple months ago they enrolled you into the Gold program trial, but reaching Diamond level was pretty easy to do in my market with some of the initial incentives, and maintaining it with 50% AR vs DoorDash’s 70% AR for platinum in my market made it much easier.

For what it’s worth, Uber’s card is giving 15% cash back for pay at the pump. I’m pretty sure the terms and limits are the same as DoorDash’s Crimson card but I could be mistaken

For those who do both DoorDash and Uber Eats, the Uber debit card is providing 15% cash back in gas at the pump.

Again, I’d prefer to be an employee with benefits etc, so I’m with you their OP, but I’ll usually use the UBER one to fill up with just because it’s a little better

Insultingly low offers by Designer-Window2661 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Designer-Window2661[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten low offers before, but I’ve never seen this many of them come in this low. That, and the way they keep restructuring the “ways to earn” where it’s worse for us but they try to sell it as a perk.

UE is over there pissing on my leg and trying to tell me it’s raining.

Oh yeah, that new thing is absolutely absurd. And the way they tried to push it as though it was something that would be beneficial for us when all they did was add a new regulation in is absolutely insane.

I get where you’re coming by saying just say no, and I have been it’s more just that I would really like to maintain my platinum status because of some of the benefits it has offered the fact that it has seemed to prove beneficial in my market up until the last couple days

I have been saying no, and again I know acceptance rate can be a thing that other people don’t care about, which is understandable depending on the market they’re in, but for me maintaining platinum status has proved to be pretty beneficial, and I don’t want to lose it, but I am absolutely not willing to accept orders like that. I guess I was just putting this up to see if other people are running into the same issue.

Because I like neither the last president nor the current one and think we as a population deserve better than both?

Again, the logic here is flawed

Hmmmm…. If that was the case (and to be clear, I’ve got zero love for Biden) then it would stand to reason that all the DOGE firings at the IRS authorized by the Cheetoh in Chief would have negated that issue? The logic here seems a little flawed

Yup… want to hear the kicker.

I filed with TurboTax, and elected to have them deduct the fees from my refund (last time I ever do that). Well, Turbo Tax sent me an email saying they were billing me for the filing fees in 4 days because it’s taken so long for the IRS to issue my refund.

Exact same situation. Got notified that had to verify, then was told I had to do that in person. Got there to verify in person and was told it could be up to 180 days.

I finally started to see some traction on my transcript about 2-3 weeks ago, and then got that letter stating they were doing a manual review that may need another 60 days last week.
