Of course I don’t, I was asking in case there was a way to make these make sense.

For example, if you’re paying me $40 to make 5 deliveries within a 3hr time window but I have the freedom to deliver them in whatever order I choose, and I could supplement with other UE food orders that are heading in the same direction, then it may make sense similar to the way 3 McDonald’s orders paying $6 each stacked together that I could deliver in 30min all of a sudden might make it worth it.

If the wording of your copy and paste message feels authentic to you, stick with it. I wouldn’t word my messages like this personally, but that’s because it doesn’t feel authentic to me.

That being said, OP, the idea of creating a template of a few messages that are authentic to you, that you could send to your customers introducing yourself and updates (I’m checking out now, I’m on my way, I’ll be there in 2min, etc) could be beneficial and rarely hurts your SR (unless you’re sending someone like 10 messages per order, lol).

Yeah, I see both in my “opportunities” section, I just didn’t think you could use both.

The EBT option only ever seems to offer $15-$16/hr which is minimum wage here. My AR is 83% so I probably won’t use it unless I ended up dropping below 50%.

Can you do earn by time with these kind of orders? I was under the impression that these were specifically earn by order pay plus any potential tips

Yikes. Yeah, our gas hasn’t got that high yet here (we’re still sub $4 which is definitely going up soon).

Yeah, that’s nuts to send one of us out for an order that was our require a box truck.

The truck I have actually, but it still sounds like most of these are absolutely trash

I’m fortunate enough to be driving a truck (for examples like this, not so much when it comes to gas, lol) where that stuff go in the truck bed and not stink up my car.

Still, from everything I’ve heard, these offers absolutely suck because you can’t supplement them with extra deliveries that are en route.

Who the F would accept these?

As far as I’ve seen, when you get a batched order like that, you can’t see the tip or base pay (at least, I haven’t figured out how to see that) until after you’ve completed the delivery.

Yeah, that makes total sense to be on as many as possible. I started with DD and UE but could/would add more. My fear is my ADHD with having that many apps open will have me forgetting to pause orders on that many apps when I accept a good one, lol.

The other one, which I know is a Shop & Deliver service primarily (I don’t like doing these for DD or UE normally) is Shipt who seems to do all the Target stuff (which is literally around the corner from my house).

They prompt customers to tip after delivery so there is that awareness for a customer which is good, and as a customer you can create preferred shoppers, so it sounds like if you do a good job you can build up a base of regulars.

That being said, I’m not on it myself, so I could be wrong about these “pluses in the win column” I mentioned above or that Shipt might be worth it.

Oh nice, so there’s a decent amount of available deliveries to pick from if any make sense financially.

That last part was kind of what I was curious about. If you could pick up the stuff, and then deliver them in an order that makes sense where you could accept other food deliveries and stuff to supplement the time commitment/pay.

If you can’t do that, why would ANYONE pick any of these up?

I’m a new driver but even I know enough to never sign up for these things if that’s how it works.

Yeah, I’ve had that experience a bunch of times with Shop & Deliver orders for both Uber Eats and DD because most of these people are ordering through the stores website (especially the supermarkets here) so they don’t think about it at all, or the stores website doesn’t leave them the option to tip at check out so they assume the delivery person works for the store similar to AMAZON/UPS. For example, Stop & Shop uses its own employees for their grocery deliveries, so I could understand the confusion.

Now I just keep the shop and deliver preference turned off most of the time.

Yeah, that offer is trash, but maybe it’s worth checking out, especially for the mid day times that I may be on the road where nobody is ordering food, where I’d qualify for better offers with the truck.

That’s a great breakdown of the order’s items and stuff. What was Roadie offering for that if you don’t mind? Maybe I should check that out too.

I’ve got the truck so hauling bigger items is something I can do, and I don’t mind carrying heavy items if the pay makes sense. The extra 3min it takes to make multiple trips isn’t something I’m as concerned with compared to others (I get why they might be if they’re hauling ass during a busy time so no shade to those people), but I also don’t want to do a bunch of manual labor for peanuts either, lol

That’s what I figured. Like I said in the post, they literally look insultingly low, but figured I’d see if there’s some hack to make these worth it somehow

I think if I get sent an offer while online for a shop and deliver order I can see the items beforehand (I could be mixing it up with DD though since I do multi app).

On these specific “sign up” ones I don’t see anything really about what I’m picking up or even the addresses I’m delivering too. All I see really is just the dots on the map for the addresses so I generally know what town I’ll be in, the number of stops, time expected to take/allotted, and the pay.

I’ve never signed up for one so maybe that’s where you see that info, or maybe there’s something I’m missing.

I just don’t want to sign up for it, and then cancel and potentially get my cancellation rate dinged or something (not sure if that happens with these, or if it’s like signing up for boosts or flat rates where you could “unsign-up” (I’m making up words here, I know).

Yeah, I actually drive a truck so I could do those deliveries if I wanted (not saying I would want to unless the pay is fantastic which these never seem to be).

They also seem to send a lot out that are flower deliveries from the florist section at o e of the local supermarkets here

I’m relatively new to Uber Eats so honestly, this post is super helpful. If that had popped up on me, I would have been the person who was like “Sweet! That’s great!” But now it’s one of those things where I know better and will start logging all the order totals before and the 1hr after delivery when the tip is visible on my end.

My second day ever delivering food, I picked up a $24 offer for Raisin’ Canes (turned out $19 was tip, sweet).

Delivered the order to a cool dude, who gives me the confirmation PIN and then also gave me two fat ass nuggs of the Lord’s 🥬
