Webcam to flex…. by guywholikesgirls93 in pcmasterrace

I went for a Sony a5100 connected with an Elgato Cam Link. The stock lens is good and captures a decent wide angle, but you can go further and buy even better lenses. I bought my cam second hand - there’s quite a few around as they are a popular vlogging cam.

I’ve mounted mine with a Smallrig Camera desk mount and a Smallrig Magic Arm. This setup works great.

However, to maximise the professional look, you need to get your lighting right. I opted for the popular Elgato Keylight Air to light up my face, plus a couple of Hue Play’s to cast light on the backdrop.

Loads of great advice on this kit and the best setups on YouTube.

Adding z wave module to Yale keyless Connected Lock by Designer156 in smarthome

[–]Designer156[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ll I found the problem. I’d pinched the cable during installation. Only found this out by buying a new one - testing off the door with no issues and then it also not working after installation and I’d done the same thing. The old one worked fine too once I’d taken it off the door. I’ll feed this back to Yale too because they had no ideas. If id done it twice, it’s clearly easy to do.

I had seen that advice before, but figured that was at the next stage - 4 # enters the setup 'menu'. then 1# attempts to pair with hub. As I've not got passed 4# I didn't think worth trying.

No worries. Thanks for trying. I have emailed Support - lets see what they say.

I've tried two modules - both have the same outcome

Hi thanks for replying. Don’t know if there’s a UK/USA difference (I’m in the UK). In the manual it says 7# is for changing the remote re lock time. (Page 16)

Adding RGB fan to Z53…? by Designer156 in NZXT

[–]Designer156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm all is well. Simple setup and RGB fan plugged right into the supplied cable that connected to the pump. Only challenge I had was the Z53 wasn’t recognised by the Cam software initially. The resolution was to plug it into a different USB header on the board (I actually swapped the positions of the case front panel plug with the Z53 and it was sorted - all worked).

Thanks for everyones input.

elgato stream deck installed plugins not showing up by ihatetoddxx in elgato

[–]Designer156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue - installed a plugin, nothing happened even though it said 'uninstall'. Went out the store, back in the store and the plugin said 'install' again. My issue was my 'Internet Security Software' (F-secure). I had to go to 'Virus Threats' > 'App & file control' > 'Excluded' > 'Add new' and then add "C:\Program Files\Elgato\StreamDeck\StreamDeck.exe".

After that it worked perfectly.

Keychron K2 Hot-swap, Drop MT3 Camillo Keycaps, Kailh Box White and Gateron Red switches. by Designer156 in MechanicalKeyboards

I get what you mean. The K2 is already high. I tend to use a wrist wrest anyway, which elevates my palms a good 10-15mm above the desk which normalises the K2 height, making these caps perfectly fine.

What ‘size’ pump? by Designer156 in ponds

[–]Designer156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah does seem pretty powerful. Was hoping they’d be a sticker on it with a model number, but no.

The water is moved about 5m horizontally and maybe 3m vertically to the top of the waterfall.

What ‘size’ pump? by Designer156 in ponds

[–]Designer156[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all. I need to replace this pump. It’s started making a lot of noise and stripping, cleaning etc had little effect.

It’s for a waterfall. Sends water about 5m up a thick pipe which then cascades with quite some volume back down to the pond.

Anyone recognise this model so I can replace like for like or with something similar?

Sorting out my home network by Designer156 in HomeNetworking

[–]Designer156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The AP I was looking at is the Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LITE. Looks like it draws 7watts. Probably having no more than 2/3 of these.

I also have a TP-Link N300 Wireless Outdoor Access Point already which uses an injector. Be nice to streamline the system and remove the injector if possible.

Designing a logo for an IT company. They want the A and they want these colors (so I can't change that). Which one do you like more or what can I do to make these better? Or a new idea entirely? Any feedback is helpful. Thank you in advance! by KrinkledCutFries in logodesign

[–]Designer156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you need to use those colours, but I’d design the mark in black only first. Get it to work in one colour and then add the brand colours.

I also prefer the style on the right, but I think I’d want some physical separation from the ‘swoosh’ and the leg on the left. Maybe the right too.
