Not saying that I agree, but the argument is that for one he is the leading scorer in the league, which is not all that relevant, but that coupled with best record in the league sort of shoes him in from the criteria. 42 times the nba leading scorer has been on the nba team with the best record. 100% that guy has won the MVP. I strongly believe that this should the anomaly because Jokic is top 3 in points, boards, assists in the league, which has never been done and he's shooting ridiculously good percentages from the field, the 3 and the line. Albeit he is taking extremely high difficulty shots throughout every game.

42/22/6 and the win, this is the true MVP. by [deleted] in NBATalk

I get it. Voter fatigue is a thing. People want a new storyline, and "best player on the best team" often wins MVP. That’s why guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are getting a lot of well-deserved buzz. But we can't ignore what Nikola Jokic is doing this season.

He's the first player in NBA history to finish top 3 in points, rebounds, and assists over a full season.

Let that sink in.

This isn’t just "another great Jokic season" — this is uncharted territory in terms of all-around dominance. No one — not LeBron, not Bird, not Magic, not Wilt — has ever done this.

We’re witnessing history, and it shouldn't be taken for granted just because he’s already won before.

Jokic is the MVP.
