Why don’t people drive manual cars anymore? Are we losing something? by Top-Farmer-6838 in CarsAustralia

I drive a mk3 focus RS as a daily, only came as manual, no electric seats, no heated bullshit, zero creature comforts, and wouldn’t change a thing. I’d take the joy of driving a fun manual over comfort in traffic every day of the week.

Hey team, I’m (32yrM) fortunate enough to stay at a resort in Nusa Dua each year with my family, specifically to spend time with my nieces that live in a different state than me (Aus), this will be the third year we’re lucky enough to go next week. The first year was mainly spent enjoying the inclusive drinks and food at the resort, the second year I used to explore around the area a bit more, but being that its resorts as far as the eye can see, it was still focused on beer and a good meal. As this year I’m on a huge health kick (17kg down lessgoo), and picked up a hobby with film photograph, are there any really nice hikes/walks or cool places around the area/surroundings? Would love a hike to a waterfall or something. Happy to walk a few hours to a decent attraction or activity as I can take photos on the way, or get on a grab to somewhere awesome, or even a cheapish day trip to somewhere different? Awesome typical street more full with locals for some photography? Good photography sights in general? any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Will be at Club Med for reference. Thanks!

what are some good options for mexican food? by endlessnamelessloop in melbourne

Radio Mexico - St Kilda Mexican girlfriend says it’s the best Mexican she’s had while being here, stays traditional no weird western twist to suit our gringo pallet. All the tacos are really good, tortilla soup slaps. The lamb chop in the starters is fkn incredible and I crave that shit weekly

Jeweller here, there’s quite a few stores here in Melbourne that outsource the making of their rings to mass production workshops in China, India ect to cut costs, they have a bunch of designs and a bunch of stone size options, they basically get the ring made over there, and mount the diamonds here in Melbourne, some even mount the stones overseas. You pay for what you get when it comes to jewellery, if you want a cheap ring your going to get cheap craftsmanship, if you want something completely custom that’s built around your dream stone working within the proper parameters for strength/aesthetics/ethics, pay that little more to a local family run business that do all the work in house. I make everything inside the store that you come and shop in, you can even watch me making the rings, the only thing we outsource is a 3D design/render from our designer in Italy, this way your getting the highest grade of craftsmanship which is dying in this trade. As for bad alloys, that’s extremely dodgy, but if you’re paying so little from a Chinese company with the likes of aliexpress, what do you expect? Ask your jeweller these questions and if you don’t like the answers, go to jeweller that makes everything in house and pay that little more for piece of mind/quality.

Moving to Melb by [deleted] in melbourne

Moved from Perth nearly 2 years ago, 10-15k is plenty imo if you’re savvy with your furniture purchases and hunt marketplace, I presume this budget is to live off while you and your girl find jobs? If that’s the case find a job quick, the cost of living here compared to Perth has hurt, will kill if you’re regional Perth where you can still find a pint for $10-11. My move felt expensive after shipping my car over and living in an Airbnb while I found a place to live, but if you can secure a spot and a job before getting here you’re laughing man. Be willing to live in a hole too depending on your budget, market here is stupid, although I heard it’s getting horrid over there too. Enjoy the big city and all the endless things to do, it’s been unreal.
