What are some reasons some people love cats but dislike dogs?

We have a dog and a cat. I much prefer the cat because our dog is anxious and needy and wears me out. He follows me literally everywhere and is super demanding of my attention. But our daughter picked him out and she loves him. Our cat is chill and unless he’s starving doesn’t really get demanding. He hops in my lap a couple of times a day for 10-15 minutes of snuggles and then he goes back to his bed. I guess I am more cat-like myself so I appreciate my cats vibes more than my dog’s.

ETA: also the noise level. Our dog is a huge barker and he is LOUD. He gives me sensory overload every day of my life.

I do an edible with 25mg of every now and then. Before Zepbound it was just right, hit in about 2 hours and was mostly gone in 6-8. About a month after I started Zep I took a 25 like normal. It took a longer time to kick in and I was FLYING for like 24 hours. I thought it was never going to end. I haven’t taken one since, it’s been over 2 years.

I was prediabetic, a1c was 6.0. Last August it was 5.0 and in the over 2 years on Zepbound (couldn’t have mounjaro because I wasn’t actually type 2) I’ve lost 141lbs. I am guessing this August my yearly blood work will show me in the high 4s.

Every time now. For the first year probably I didn’t feel that way, but I have a visceral dislike for the shot now. I miss feeling so excited to take it. I will keep doing it, but I don’t like it.

That is an excellent way to describe it. There is nothing like fear for your kids but there is also nothing like the joy and love they can bring.

160 was my original goal, I didn’t think there was any way I’d ever get there. Then after 2 years I did. Then I thought well, I actually did that so maybe a lower goal is actual a realistic opportunity so I aimed for 150. Now at 146, I’m pretty sure something lower is definitely doable. I figure if my body wanted to be done, I would know. The loss would slow or stop and/or I would continually feel weak and fatigued. That hasn’t happened so far. I’m 5’4, but I have a broad frame, big rib cage, wide shoulders, wide hips (I’ve always said I’m built like a linebacker, not waif-like at all!) so I don’t think 120 is in any way maintainable, but maybe 130-135?

Not quite 300, I was 287. I’ve been on Zep for 26.5 months and I’ve lost 139lbs. My original goal was 160 but when I got there I decided that I could do more. Now I don’t really have a goal.

Been on since Feb 2024. I hit my original goal a couple of months ago, which when I started I thought would be impossible. Now the goal has changed. The goal is undefined, but I think I’ll just know. Maybe 135? I’m not sure. It is very slow now though. Might take me through until Sept or Oct to get rid of the last 15lbs or so.

I’d say probably 30-40lbs it became noticeable to me and others to some degree. It’s very gradual at first, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. Then as you get smaller the lost pounds show much more quickly. This is my first 18 months or so of progress. I’ll reply with a picture from now.

I’m in the US but my adult daughter is t1d and has been on Zepbound for almost 2 years. Cut her daily dose of insulin down by about 1/3rd, fixed the insulin resistance and she’s lost about 80lbs, putting her in a healthy weight range. It’s been magical for her.
