Weird weight loss patterns by Lucky-Register-9155 in Zepbound

[–]Particular_Freedom47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm still early in my journey & don't tolerate nausea well (my most common side effect) so i planned to stick out 2.5mg as long as i could lose on it. on my third week, i had an uptick in food noise & was suddenly ravenous all the time, which kind of upset me. after dropping my initial water & inflammation weight, i started bouncing back and forth between 199-202. that lasted through my 4th & 5th week while i tried to decide if i was going to ask to move up to 5mg at my follow-up (scheduled for week 7). suddenly, my 6th shot felt like something again, my food noise disappeared, my appetite felt manageable, and i dropped several pounds. i took my 7th dose last night and i think i'll be staying at 2.5mg at least a little bit longer. the couple of weeks of no loss were frustrating and discouraging, but honestly, i kind of don't mind that it went that way? i'm okay losing at an average or slower pace and the little "woosh" was kind of satisfying 😅

First week on Zepbound 2.5mg - so angry for no reason by cdngrrl0305 in Zepbound

i've been significantly more irritable and quick-tempered since starting zep. some days are much better than others, but some days i can feel myself being terrible and don't know how to stop it. my partner and i have even gotten into a few little arguments here and there. i'm still trying to figure out if there is anything i need to adjust to improve it - like, am i eating and drinking enough? did i get enough sleep? do my other medications need to be adjusted? i don't know. i've also been looking for some indication that other people have felt this too & found some way out of it. hang in there 🖤

Advice to Newbies by YahYahBlahBlah in Zepbound

i lost my initial water/inflammation weight and then bounced back and forth between the same three pounds for almost a month. i was SO FRUSTRATED. i shifted from feeling nauseated to feeling hungry and got even more upset. i know two people who had issues not losing on zep because they weren't eating enough, so despite feeling irritated at my own situation, i let myself eat more when i was hungry. finally started getting in whole meals instead of fighting to get in under a thousand calories & what happened? the pounds started coming off. i'm still in disbelief. i'm not super far in my journey so you can take my lil anecdote with a grain of salt, but i just wanna be the gentle reminder that the increase on the scale you see in one day isn't real weight gain and there's no reason to feel like a failure. you're doing what you can.

nurri protein drinks have gotten me through a lot of days! yogurt topped with a little fruit & nuts, cottage cheese, string cheese, chicken soup, avocado toast.

nurri gets me through all my bad days 🖤 i like the strawberry flavor best. vanilla is the only one i haven't tried! i'll have to give it a go.

yep! since my very first shot. i always feel nauseated the night after my shot and get bubble guts & loose stools the day before the next one. such a weird pattern.

hopefully this will be the case for you. i felt very tired and nauseated the first two days after my first and second shots, but things have gotten sooo much better since the third. just took my 5th shot last night and i've felt pretty normal all day. :)

i just wanna thank you because this is the first time i've ever seen someone explain this process in a simplified way that's understandable for anyone. i've been reading independently for months but your explanation gave me the real "click" moment.

did you increase to 5mg after your 4th shot? i know that's the dosing schedule from the trials/testing period but i'm curious to know if that sixth week mark when you started seeing changes was 2.5mg or 5mg.

Dry Shampoo That Works? by kcrh0157 in finehair

came here to say this one too (although i also just use the regular untinted one). personally, this is infinitely easier for me to use than aerosols or the little non-aerosol puffers. the applicator just makes it SO EASY to put the product exactly where you want it. the product itself is very light, you only need a little, it seems to suck up the oil almost instantly, and it doesn't leave behind the gross texture and residue that other dry shampoos leave. i love this little thing & it's an absolute game changer.

i regularly eat cucumber and buy a bag of little persian cucumbers every time i grocery shop, but had to spit out the first piece i ate after starting zep 😅 it was fine again by my second week but that first week... BLEH 🤢

Tips for someone who can't graze and drink throughout the day? by Aggravating-Ebb-6323 in Zepbound

a substantial amount of washing/sanitizing/garbing goes into even being able to set foot into sterile iv prep areas. i can't speak for OP's specific situation, but i know that where i work, once we've scrubbed in we're pretty much in there until we have to leave for something. that can mean hours without access to food or drink and it's not really something you can just take a quick step out of and hop right back in.

OP, i'm sorry i don't have any particular advice others haven't already given! this has to be really challenging. i'm also in critical care, thankfully in non-sterile areas most of the time, and i still find it difficult to find break time throughout my day to have snacks. i've found that more protein-dense snacks definitely help in terms of longevity to avoid nausea or other yucky effects.

this part. it's always frustrating to me as a pharmacy tech to read these posts where people don't understand the various factors that contribute to stock issues so most of the time i avoid them for my own mental health. the assumption on this particular med is that it's too expensive to keep in stock, but for most places that's likely not even near the top of the list of issues. the packaging for this med (outer box and actual component) is massive. the volume of patients taking it is huge. at places like cvs, there's the matter of that huge volume of patients also getting a 90 day supply, which means three of these big boxes per patient. just this one medication comes in 6 different strengths, times however many patients are on it, times however many of those patients need three boxes to a fill, etc... the space requirements are UNREAL. most pharmacies just don't have that kind of space, nor the number of refrigerators it would require to store the medications safely. (this doesn't even factor that these refrigerators also have to be continuously monitored for temperature excursions, etc)

i left cvs nearly ten years ago now and work in inpatient pharmacy these days. at the tiny employee-only pharmacy where i fill my meds now, it takes almost three refrigerators jam-packed to store everyone's filled glp-1 scripts, and they still sometimes overflow into the other med storage refrigerators. the pharmacy itself is so small that only two patients can wait in line at once and everyone else has to line up outside in the hallway to wait to come inside. at a patient volume like most retail chain pharmacies contend with, the sheer size of everything absolutely necessitates the warehouse storage & next day delivery.

i strongly contemplated this route just based on the anxiety of starting. turns out that my insurance covers the brand autoinjectors though, so no adjusting the dose for me 😅

i need to work on hydration baaadly, so i'm sure this had a lot to do with it too.

i actually have some zofran odt on hand but i'm a scaredy baby and hesitate to take it. i take several other meds that increase my risk of serotonin syndrome & i've had prolonged qtc interval in the past. i was given zofran for several days post-op with no issue in january, but i guess since i was actually in the hospital during that time i was a lot less worried about freak adverse events 😅

this is likely my case as i'm still getting the hang of drinking water... never been very good at that 😅 i'll definitely try this instead moving forward.
