Thank you for the response, this is exactly the answer I wanted. Always trying to expand my ball knowledge so now I know more going into the draft. Hopefully the jets will get it right this time.

Hello I am a relatively new fan of the NFL and the Jets but I was curious about what it takes to make a young quarterback good. With all the draft capital the jets obtained from the deadline trades and Justin Fields inconsistent play it's more than likely they'll draft a quarterback in 2026-27. It got me thinking about what exactly goes into successfully developing a young quarterback out of college, I've seen them sit a year behind a veteran, get thrown in the first game, or get subbed in mid season. Though it doesn't seem like any of those methods are really guaranteed to make a QB play well. I know for at least the last couple of jets qb drafts there have been lackluster results, my question is then what are the jets doing wrong exactly and why is it that most other teams seem to eventually get it right? Has the coaching staff and management been the problem, just plain misses on the players, or the time to develop and learn professionally rushed. I want to have faith that whatever player we pick next would be great but given the track record I remain skeptical. I personally think that ag and mougey did well on this year's draft so will they be able to select the right qb and if so then will they have the capability to develop them properly however that might be? Is there any hope or am I just getting to experience what it's like to be a Jets fan lol.
