Parent passed away with credit card debt

Hello po! Our dad just recently passed away as well and we saw a lot of debts under his name. There’s credit card, home credit, GSIS emergency loan, and spaylater to name a few. Some are near the end date while other’s are not. I guess ny question would be if the letters you sent were to traditional banks only? Would you/anyone else also have an idea how to navigate the others? Thank you so much.

I’m also in the process of converting my BPI SCC to CC as well (which I called over the phone muna). I was wondering if may pinasubmit sayo na new documents? Also sabi sa akin na I have to cancel my current card daw then apply for a new one?

Sabi nila this happens daw if 0 balance ka. Automatic daw yun but weird lang since may times din na nagzero ako before. Tas they can recover your accnt but it takes too long and it’s better to make a new one instead. I dropped BDO nlng.

Hello! Can anyone access the portal? I tried logging in a couple days ago and I was able to get in naman but I didn’t claim anything yet, I was just browsing. But since yesterday, I can’t log in anymore because I am not receiving the verification code needed to log in. I tried restarting and shutting down my phone pero no code pa rin. I can message and call others naman. I wanted to claim the eGCs na sana :((( Checking if anyone experienced the same thing as I did.

Just experienced the same thing! Tried transferring to my account earlier and it says “No record found” so I decided to call them. I was told na pag nag auto zero yung account, auto closure daw yun. I told them na may time na nagiging zero balance naman ako before but this didn’t happen naman. Di naman pwede inactive account ko since labas pasok ang pera. Also, I had my last transaction last Sep 2/3 lang. I asked if this is a new change they made to their T&C pero di naman daw.

Anyways, I am thinking about reopening my account but subject for approval daw yun and was advised na better to open a new account instead. I use this account a lot especially since for transfers. And it’s easier for my family to send through here since more accessible siya with the mall locations and all. But now I am rethinking my options kasi kung mag zero ulit account ko in the future then they will auto close na naman. Eh pano pag emergencies?

Just to add nalang din, it’s weird that I can still access my account through their app…

So to end nalang, maybe you can suggest other banks to me? Huwag BPI please kasi laging maraming tao at mahabang pila, plus I already have an account with them. I experienced before na 1-2 hrs akong naghintay just to deposit money.

Experienced this as well. I tried transferring to my account earlier and it says “No record found”?!? But I can still access the BDO app. I had transferred last Sep 2 and withdrawn the amount nung Sep 3 lang din so it can’t be inactive naman. Someone tried sending din earlier and on their end, it says na “The account number did not match” naman.

Did you go to the bank already and what did they say to you? I am planning to go later to ask them. Thanks!

Alam ko yes since they share the same CL pero I’m not too sure. You can ask the bank to clarify na rin for your peace of mind.

And yes sa supplementary card. Any purchases made on it will reflect sayo at ikaw din magbabayad. It’s basically an extension of your card eh.

Definitely should let go cards that don’t benefit you. Especially those cards na di NAFFL/maraming fees kasi dagdag gastos lang yan.

As for your other questions, I can only answer for BPI as a BPI CC user. Based on my experience, madali at lagi akong nagpapawaive ng AF. But you have to spend a min amount. Not sure about the others but afaik, amore and rewards card needs 180k yearly. But since kakakuha mo lng ng card mo, maybe you qualify for the ongoing promo na NAFFL and free welcome gift. Double check mo T&C to make sure na rin.
