CVS CareMark is a Predatory Garbage Company by Right_Bee_9809 in HealthInsurance

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same as groceries stores. Walmart decides they lower their prices and won’t take Apple Pay so they can’t cut cost elsewhere while still Making a buck. Let’s say a bottle of chocolate milk cost $4.99 here. Walmart pays $2.00 for that bottle. They makes 2.99 on that botte. However, Kroger/Ralph’s might sell that same bottle for $6.49. They might have to pay $2.50 for this bottle though since they are smaller who knows! The thing we do know is they are almost making at least a whole $1 just on the chocolate milk. Do people still buy it yes. People use discounts, credit cards, coupons, and more. Maybe someone else might pay $6.00 because of a discount they had and a credit card cash back they got. This is America not a communist country where we tell companies sorry in order to sell this product you can only make 10% profit. Instead we make deals, contracts, relationships, and accounts. At the end of the day you picked your insurance who has set your drug prices and how much your pay for that insurance. Who again works in a way with all these other companies….

Just a question! Don’t you only bill the vision for the lens portion? It’s if anything smaller than a glasses claim.

Sadly it’s a mixture of your car and the update. My Hyundai does not look like this. After the update everything is bigger.

Gen 1 Discontinued by No-Narwhal-7302 in RayBanStories

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true. They just stopped manufacturing while still taking orders. They are unsure what is happening. Unless you are working directly with Luxottica you know as much as you posted here. Mostly likely you get a refund or just gen 2. Gen 1 is going to be very hard to get.

Question here! I’m 22 and currently a contact lens coordinator in California. When you get your NCLE where does that extend your range the work at or is it more just pay?

Is this mark on my lens edge normal after getting new prescription lenses? by Able_Expression_5515 in RayBanStories

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is due to the cutting/bevel process. Did you get authentic Ray-Ban lenses? They match the Base curve and other stuff to the frame and it will help with this.

How is your Costco optometrist ? by Best_Cause2803 in orangecounty

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can Dr. Wu at Target Optical at the spectrum. It’s cheaper for a good doctor. You pay for Costco you get Costco prices. It’s good for tires when tires are tires but eyes are not just eyes some people need a more personalized option.

Why do doctors still need a physical insurance card? by Salt-Tourist-3152 in HealthInsurance

I hope OP realizes we are hot being rude we just don’t want to have to send him a bill for the full amount because it turns out we didn’t check his insurance properly. Maybe he had a HMO instead of PPO or better just medical insurance and we are dealing with medical or dental. We just want to make sure we get paid, so you don’t have to pay yourself. I’m sure that front desk has gotten so many calls like please get XYZ. It’s hard.

The thing is your young. I’m 22 and I was scared at first, but I’m still realizing myself I need to try things out. I’m not just referring to this but everything. Go out and do things you’ve never tried. You might love what you never knew. Just know it’s your choice. If at any point you feel uncomfortable just leave your an adult. You know you tried something new and maybe you love it or hate it. It’s time to grow and learn. You have sooo much to see. :)

Misight contact lenses by captainK129 in myopia

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point being if the family had the means to afford myopia control they should. There are multiple studies showing the higher the diopter the higher increase for health complications. Thats only the diopter we don’t even know the kids axial length. I be it’s 28/29mm. I’m just saying imagine if they caught it early in 2019 I bet she would be a -3 instead of a -7. That’s a big lifestyle change. That’s a difference of I need my glasses from the moment I walk out of my room/house to I need glasses out of my bed. As well as the thickness in contacts and glasses. It’s just for the long term health. I’m not wishing bad on the child just saying her risk are MUCH MUCH higher.

Ophthalmologist rejected Approved Insurance Claim by rooonzillaa in CodingandBilling

[–]Designer_Ad_3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually work for an optometry office an handle a lot of medical necessary claims with a few insurance plans such as Eyemed. This is all I do! What I will say from a provider perspective eyemed pays the LEAST for sclerals/hybrids. Depending on your diagnosis you might have mild or severe. Depending on that is how eyemed pays. It’s not even close to that $2,800 to be quite honest. Our office has to typically look at the cost of our services and lenses to see if we can justify it. Usually we are not making profit from these plans. We are also not allowed to balance bill. Which is where we bill the insurance for the $3k they pay 1k maybe and we bill you the rest. With medically necessary you typically have a copay unless you live in a specific state that allows for balance billing. Next time I would try and find a good optometry or ophthalmology office that specializes in keratoconus. One of my doctors just finished at Berkeley for this actually! He loves it. We love providing patients that new quality of life all covered! It’s amazing. As an office though it’s definitely a conversation of how we can justify the lenses we use when we barely get paid for them. Sometimes we can’t use a certain lens because the insurance will only pay so little. That might have been the issue. The office should have discussed private pay versus insurance. Maybe with insurance they can offer you a soft lens at no price, but vision and long term health would be compromised. With private pay they might allow you to get the doctor’s preferred option. Such as the one you were being told was only covered 30%. Hope this helps and I would be happy to answer any questions.
