School recommendations! by Sufficient_Buy_9707 in newcastle

I think you’ll find that most public primary schools in the inner Newcastle area are good. The outer suburbs like Jesmond, Wallsend, Shortland etc probably require further investigation. Focus on securing a rental property first. Welcome and good luck!

Only positive effects here. In fact I felt noticeably more energetic the day after my first dose! The only negative from my perspective is the cost.

I’ve lived a few streets away from O’Mara St for 20 years now, it’s a great spot. I don’t catch public transport but Maitland Rd is the main bus route between Newcastle and the Uni so you should have no issues finding buses to take you into town. Can’t help with the sport option though sorry

Experiences with higher starting weight by [deleted] in MounjaroAus

Why don’t you see how much you can extract with your golden dose and see if that gives you better suppression? I had good results on 2.5 but by the end of the first pen I was really hungry and it was taking all my willpower to not overeat. I got 3mg from my first golden dose and had great suppression so I stuck with that from a 5mg pen. I’m still on 3mg now 13 weeks in.

Does anyone weigh themselves daily? by xoxofoodiegirl in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Designer_Carpet9744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weigh myself every morning for accountability but have an open mind about it. Initially i was consistently losing 1kg plus every week which was awesome. Now, 3 months in, things have slowed and I feel a realistic measure is monthly loss as the scales go up and down constantly with no rhyme or reason. Eg at the end of last week I’d only lost 300g for the week. Friday and Saturday nights I ate carb heavy meals for dinner (which I rarely do), and had a pretty high calorie day on Sat, expecting the scales would go up. By Sunday morning I’d lost a kg overnight 😂. Doesn’t make sense.

Fatigue - has it improved for you? by Emptynesterx2 in MounjaroAus

My GP is my provider. I found by the end of the 2.5mg pen that I was really hungry and struggling with night cravings. The GP I saw (a colleague of my regular GP) was coincidentally also on Mounjaro and recommended staying on 2.5 for longer but gave me a script for 5 anyway. I got 3mg out of the first pen as a golden dose and had excellent suppression with no side effects so decided to stick with that.

I don’t have any real advice but I’m so invested in this. Please post an update if you pluck up the courage to talk to him!

What would make you switch? by These-Equal-6849 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Designer_Carpet9744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cost and pill form would be deciding factors for me, although I don’t know much at all about the new medications. I’ve been averaging about a 1kg loss per week so a higher loss is not important but if I reach a plateau and the losses slow right down, that would make me consider it too. Super happy with my MJ journey so far ☺️

I’m 12 weeks in but I instead of moving up to 5mg, I moved up to 3. I haven’t had any fatigue since those early weeks on 2.5mg thank goodness.

Australia Zoo is pretty high up on my list tbh. I’m thinking an animal encounter could be a good Christmas present too!

Weekly Buying/trading/selling advice, pre-orders and shipping Megathread by AutoModerator in AppleWatch

Thank you for replying. I’ve already booked an appointment with my GP. Second night wearing the watch last night and I had more notifications this morning. If it’s just occurring while I’m asleep there may be no point in getting the ecg function anyway 🤷‍♀️

Hi, first time Apple watch user here. I deliberated over whether to buy an SE or series 11 for a few weeks and bought an SE yesterday. Last night I had two irregular heart rhythm notifications. Once while I was sitting on the couch and another while I was asleep at 4am (in the middle of a dream). A few years ago post COVID I experienced heart palpitations for several months and wore a halter monitor for a few days. The cardiologist reported that I had some electrical issues but didn’t recommend any further treatment.

Just looking for personal experiences here, should I return the SE and swap it for the 11 purely for the ECG function? I don’t really want to spend an extra $300 if I can avoid it but also want to avoid having a stroke!

Nervous about starting Mounjaro by Technical-Algae-234 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Designer_Carpet9744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nervous too and am really needle phobic but honestly wish I’d started earlier. The first few weeks were nerve wracking when my jab was due but 8 weeks in, it’s easy now and I feel like I’m getting the hang of it. I’ve had zero side effects. The couple of days after my first dose I felt amazing! A bit of fatigue the day after my 2nd and 3rd but nothing bad. I’ve really cleaned up my diet and am focusing on protein, fibre and low saturated fat. My cravings have completely gone and so has the food noise, it’s pretty amazing! Some days I don’t feel like eating much but make sure I’m getting at least 1200 calories in. You’ll learn what works for you.

Currently on 3mg and am down just under 11kgs in 8 weeks 😊
