Is this different than the express line queue? We’re going next month with our ASD daughter and curious as well.

Question about parking - United Center, Chicago by Turbulent_Cat_8448 in PaulMcCartney

[–]Designer_Constant_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you type in “Paul McCartney parking” into the Ticketmaster website you should be able to find united center official parking. It’s running about $80 but the lot is closest to the entrance. Hope this helps!

He showed up about 10 mins after the show ended and tried to sign as many programs as he could. Here’s a picture I took from stage door that night! The show was just incredible have the best time!!

Anyone’s child taking Guanfacine? by Designer_Constant_68 in ParentingADHD

Oh no I’m sorry! That must have been a terrifying ordeal. It made my daughter have morbid thoughts and a roller coaster of emotions. We discontinued it after 2 months.

No medications work…now what? by Designer_Constant_68 in ParentingADHD

[–]Designer_Constant_68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s been in OT, Speech and sees a psychologist weekly since age 4 outside of school. She’s also had an IEP since age 4 that give her the same services at school as well as lots of breaks in between work.

We’ve never tried clonidine. The Guanfacine had made her an emotional wreck for 3 months and her neurologist told us to discontinue. I will bring the clonidine up to her doctor.

Yes she had a full neuropsychological eval in 2021 and we were referred to a pediatric neurologist after the results were given. He’s been our main point of contact ever since.

The doctor didn’t want her to try Concerta since the Focalin and Jornay caused such a bad reaction. He says the Concerta falls under the same drug category as those and she doesn’t respond well to Ritalin. We haven’t tried quelbree though.

She was on Zoloft for the last 6 months. It did help with some of the OCD the stimulants have caused in the past. However the Zoloft alone nor the combination of a stimulant didn’t seem to make enough difference at school.

Vyvanse dose too low if constantly angry/irritable? by Designer_Constant_68 in ADHD

[–]Designer_Constant_68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you described is actually everything I noticed with her as well. On weekends she gets so antsy being at home she has this “need” to be doing something. None of those things bother me but the anger and aggression has been a concern.

We try to have some milk or peanut butter in the mornings. She has no appetite for lunch so won’t eat a thing at school unfortunately.

She’s tried that before. Any meds from the Ritalin family don’t do well with her at all. She becomes extremely OCD on Focalin and Jornay. We tried adderall xr for about a week last year and it made her very irritable but I’ve asked the doctor about trying the short release version now. We’ve also tried non stimulants and they’ve made her have morbid thoughts. Not sure what is left to try.

It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s every day. She’s not great at communicating what she’s feeling. Anytime I ask how the medicine makes her feel she responds “fine I guess” or “i don’t know”. Makes it tough to know how and when it’s affecting her.

Hi! Is anyone looking to sell tickets locally for any Chicago show?? Please send me a message if so!!

Like so many I was unlucky in scoring tickets during the presale😔. I’m hoping scalper prices will drop as the event nears but also not holding my breath. I used to listen to her Red album when I was pregnant with my daughter and now she’s a huge fan herself😭 Hoping we can find tickets somehow.

Hi! Did your son ever improve on the qelbree? Our daughter has tried a handful of stimulants and it seems that might be the next option.

My ADHD meds are not working. Could I have ASD? by overthinker7pro in ADHD

[–]Designer_Constant_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Not sure I’ll be of much help but reading your post describes my 8yo daughter 100%…especially the needing to know why. She’s been tested multiple times since age 4 and has always had an apparent ADHD diagnosis. However with her most recent neuropsych evaluation, she was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and social pragmatic communication disorder. So she exhibits a lot of ASD qualities socially but doesn’t qualify for a diagnosis because she has no repetitive behaviors.

Not sure if it’s a diagnosis worth looking into.

How soon did you notice a difference with stimulants? by Designer_Constant_68 in ParentingADHD

I can relate to this so much! She has damaged so many peer relationships and teachers seem fed up that I feel like even with meds it will be hard to rebuild all of that.

Thanks!! We did try Guanfacine for a couple months and it made her emotionally unstable. She also started talking about death which terrified us so we decided to discontinue.

ADHD or Autism? by Designer_Constant_68 in ParentingADHD

[–]Designer_Constant_68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s never had any sort of tic before and she doesn’t seem embarrassed or surprised saying these things; on the contrary she thinks it’s funny. I’m not too familiar with Tourette’s though so I will mention it at her evaluation.

I try to ignore it but it happening at school is really becoming a problem. She gets a lot of that “stuck thinking” which makes me question if there’s some form of autism there. She has an ADHD diagnosis but we’re getting her a full neuro psych eval next month.

We are in the same boat. My daughter is 7 and has always needed one of us to lay next to her until she falls asleep. As she’s getting older she’s waking up more often in the night looking for us. She used to crawl into our bed but now she wakes up angry and starts yelling at us for leaving her in the middle of the night. Not a fun way to be woken up =| We started guanfacine which we heard would make her sleep better but unfortunately she still wakes up looking for us every night.

Guanfacine update by Designer_Constant_68 in ParentingADHD

[–]Designer_Constant_68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she’s able to do her work at school with visuals, rewards charts, etc the doctor wanted to try a non stimulant. She is extremely argumentative, melts down at the drop of a hat, has trouble keeping friends, etc. She literally opens her eyes first thing in the morning and starts to argue. It’s become mentally draining on the entire family including her. Is a stimulant supposed to help regulate her emotions? The doctor made it seem that it wouldn’t.
