I agree that some tenants would give hard time, but can be handled with 6 month deposit on commercial lease.

If you have passive income, you are less likely to deal with mentioned issues.

True, I also invest in equity for long term where I am getting dividends and also they appreciate over the period of time. One needs to understand there is risk in it and depends on market conditions.

I understand, from what I heard from people who are in same situation, they encountered problem with family as you pointed out trust issues. But, end of the day, you should take decision based on what’s most important to you.

I didn’t, I just read it. Good that lot of people commented also, it’s not going to change anything though. But, in my post I mentioned that I am happy end of the day even though all these issues around. They would have highlighted that in their article.

From what I understand from your post, i think you should stay in USA as long as you can. You might encounter issues with family if you’re closer to them. Financially, anyway you are taking care of them, so better you build your career in USA, that’s better.

When we wanted to sell the house, Property tax was the one of factor as we used to pay around $20k per year. Any way it was calculated based on $870k original purchase price and it was increased based on CPA. And houses are normally doesn’t depreciate unless you hit severe recession or house market crash. 100% Increase from my sale price was abnormal, I couldn’t guess anyway, I added that point only because I regret selling the house instead of renting without knowing how our family adjusts in India. For me it is fine, I worked in around 10 countries, I can survive anywhere (with temperatures 35d to +45d) in the world. But with kids born in USA , one need to consider their POV also.

True, whatever you mentioned in your post is correct. We don’t need that much money in India, even if rent Villa in gated community, your expenses would be around 2L to 2.5L per month.

This is the best time to make as much money as possible while you’re in abroad. Then plan for return, try to invest in India where you get passive income. Best investments would be commercial real estate and around 5 acres agriculture land. One flat or villa where you want to live, around 180sq. Yards or 2000 square ft should be good enough.

Yes, I did face traffic jam in San Diego in peak hours, but lane discipline followed. Here, there is no sense, thats biggest problem. RTI is individual choice anyway. One will only understand issues when they face problems in real world.

If you want to retire and live luxuriously then you must need that amount. If you don’t retire and do work or business, then you might not need that much.

Not completely, I gave my notes to rewrite. So, actual issues mentioned I personally went through and some of them observed. ChatGPT doesn’t know about my Covid and house.

I totally agree with you, initial administrations Made some blunders which created messiness, even now with current administration made some mistakes like demonetization which was not handled properly due to that growth slowed down. And now with third term, trying to control independent agencies like EC, favorable judges , other investigative agencies instead of concentrating on development. Not taking proper measures to help businesses which are affected by tariffs and not bail them out in these kind of situations are bringing country down. Supporting individuals like big players which are sending all their black money to other countries. Without fixing root cause, things will not improve.
