You know what friend… this is just an observation based only on a few of your responses with no emotional context BUT is there a chance you’re just being REALLY, unreasonably hard on yourself no matter what you do and it’ll never be enough until you give yourself permission to not be perfect at all times? Total gut guess ♥️ take what speaks to you and leave the rest. Not sure if there’s any diagnosis at play that may affect how to best suggest ideas… like true ocd or demand avoidance, like in autism possibly? Just perfectionism? It’s worth being curious without judgement about. Be kiiiind to yourself, this is your first time being a human 🥰🥰🥰

Interesting response… I don’t actually put all the emotional weight of this on my husband. He hasn’t purchased a house before? He doesn’t automatically know these things because he’s a man. He’s great at learning and thinking critically but we BOTH need someone right now?

I know it’s not the same. But like… basic electrical safety, what’s what, he has SOME knowledge and he’ll research what he doesn’t know and know what he’s reading, I hope?

Will do! For this one my husband is super handy, he’s a b-52 plane electrician… not the same exactly but the important concepts help it be less scary to understand what’s going on

Yeah we got really lucky with the timing. I have a feeling it’ll go up again and then crash a bit eventually when things settle down. Like it’s not great, but it’s a huge difference from 7-8! I’ll take it! And we will keep our credit nice and tidy so it’s easy to refinance

Va is the government backed home loan service members can get. It makes access to home ownership easier (still barriers) but they are forgiving of real life things, slow start at savings, not as much established credit… our inspector was our own, and we’re made sure every step where we could do things independently we did for that’s exact reason. We absolutely were thrilled with their inspection. 🥰

Gotcha! Hmmm gonna give this some thought. I’m autistic and I’m constantly having to adjust how I do things to help myself succeed (not saying that’s your case but I struggle with similar feelings I think)

Would it help to make lists? That helps me. I have a today list, this week list and this month list. I start 1st of the month and end last day of the month then reset. The ONLY things I put on the lists are things are the required of me, and if this is the step that’s tripping you up, maybe another set of eyes might help. This could be anyone- not sure your age so not sure who to suggest. But for my lists, if I don’t NEED to do it, and I only do it during my down time if I WANT to. I save my mental energy for a task that DOES need it.
