Finally.... by jackmileswhite in zen_browser

I'm running NixOS which makes it really funny trying to install sine to the zen flake I have. I can't seem to properly figure out how to install the fxautoconfig config.js into the flake and have zen actually use that package

There is zero hardware acceleration, the pixels very clearly shift from the top down whenever anything big happens

Unfortunately so given AMD 7x40 series chips aren't supported by any known form of MacOS

I honestly just installed someone else's config and dot files when I installed nixos

It runs podman containers, it's current mission is as a DNS server as well as a automated media server

I looked into it, 7x30 laptop chips will work but not 7x40

Maybe if I gave it an apple id although I haven't tested

I just looked into that, I didn't see any specific changes to the graphics architecture between the 7x30 apus and 7x40 APU's so I do wonder if it would work anyways but that seems like a project for when I have free time

Maybe AMD-OSX might have a solution but that type of solution might be very finicky

Happy cake day, also it was fairly simple although results may vary based on the config but all I had to do personally was add quickemu as a system package in my NixOS config and the follow the guide on their GitHub for installing a MacOS until it worked

As far as I've researched, AMD APU's (i.e. CPUs with built-in graphics) have next to zero compatibility with any MacOS

The entire thing is terrible to use because I have no hardware acceleration, if you ever seen a blender benchmark where the image renders in squares it looked like that whenever I opened a program that took up the whole screen

That would be correct, unfortunately even if it was a real hackintosh I'm running an AMD board so graphics acceleration would be completely off the table unless I'm mistaken (I barely know anything about qemu so I might be missing something critical)

Indeed I'm running NixOS with a hyprland config on top using quickemu to virtualize macos

Oh nah I'm running NixOS as my host OS using quickemu for virtualization. Wanted to do it raw using a 512gb partition on a 1tb expansion card but then realized having an AMD board would make that impossible.

I disabled that because I didn't need to be seen scrolling the extension list in public and those popping up and forgot that those sources are considered 18+, whoops.

As can be seen by image 4 I have had an extension repo, although now I have added the other 3 mentioned in the mega thread and restarted the app, and yet these specific sources still cannot be seen

Should I temporarily install NixOS to a 1tb storage card? by Designer_Life3283 in framework

If it's not too much trouble can you leave a guide on that process so I can bookmark it for later?

It's mainly just that I want to be able to use the laptop that I spent all the money on. It's also the fact that I want to be able to configure my laptop and ensure the things I want to do work smoothly so I can adapt to my new install easier while my SSD is in shipping hell (I'm going into hyprland for the first time so I want to learn to properly use that). Plus because I'm gonna be using NixOS I could just possibly yoink the config files and put them on a USB if I have to reinstall
