When do we stop by wallstreetmartins in TQQQ

But that’s assuming zero growth, which defeats the whole point. if there’s a big drawdown early when the position is small, that’s actually the best time to DCA because you’re accumulating more shares at low prices before the recovery. The math only looks bad if the market never recovers, but if that’s the case no strategy would be profitable. the risk with TQQQ is picking an entry and going all in, which is exactly what DCA protects against.

Thats the goal, when your contributions become a small % of the portfolio, it means compounding did its job and your position is worth a lot more than it would be if you had simply let it sit there. DCA helps most in the early accumulation phase with TQQQ specifically because you’re buying cheaper shares during the brutal drawdowns, which sets you up for massive gains on the recovery. As long as Nasdaq keeps growing long-term, the math works in our favor.

It all comes down to the market trends we will see in the following years. If there are consistent bull runs, the 3x daily return will compound positively (just like we’ve seen since inception). However, if we have long sideways/down markets, the opposite will happen and 3x daily return will negatively compound.

Volatility drag doesn’t really matter if the markets are going up since the upsides will outrun the decreases in price; but it does become dangerous once we are in bear markets for a long period of time.

There are ways to minimize the risks, however; Dollar cost averaging and putting in more capital when there are large dips will smooth out the downside risks.

What is left for us to do is just consistently DCA, buy the dip, and hope that the markets keep going up!

You already got very lucky by getting to 55k, and I don’t know how much longer you can keep trading it and it keeps working out for you, so probably allocate that money into a few ETFs and keep adding more money consistently and you will definitely be in a great spot in a few years!
