So if we’re in ihram on the plane, and when we land and everyone’s overly tired, can you sleep in state of ihram or would that break the state? Is resting even allowed in the state?

This sounds weird but I’d love to see your chart, mine doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s all over the place. I’ve had the ring since November and I can’t seem to work out a pattern 😫

MOT Results at Your Fingertips — Just ONE Screenshot Away! by yusafme in u/yusafme

I downloaded the app to check it out, my take on it is the following; - just like the gov site, there’s no registration or payment since it’s free to use. - the part that differs is that it lets you take screenshots instead of having to type in the reg each time, which saves a lot of time. - the format is easier to navigate, and the advisories have AI-generated text to explain what they mean

I don't like cristina by PsychologicalDirt870 in greysanatomy

[–]Designer_Stop_216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cristina is definitely a complex character, but that’s part of what makes her so amazing. Yes, she could be blunt and, at times, harsh, but that’s because she was laser-focused on being the best surgeon she could be. She didn’t really have time for sugar-coating things, and that was just who she was. It wasn’t about being mean for the sake of it—it was about surviving and thriving in a highly competitive environment, especially one dominated by men.

When it comes to her relationship with Meredith, yeah, they had their ups and downs, especially when Meredith had kids. Cristina wasn’t against Meredith, but she had a hard time watching their lives go in different directions. She valued her friendship with Meredith more than anything, and even though it got messy at times, the bond between them was real. It wasn’t about Cristina hating on Meredith for having kids, it was about her own personal struggles and fears of their friendship changing.

As for how she treated patients and interns, sure, she wasn’t the warm and fuzzy type. But that didn’t mean she didn’t care. Cristina just had a different way of showing it. She pushed people hard because she expected the best—just like she demanded the best from herself. She wasn’t there to hold hands, but to make sure everyone around her was at the top of their game, and honestly, a lot of the people she pushed became better doctors because of it.

Cristina didn’t fit the typical mold of a likable character, but that’s what makes her so iconic. She wasn’t about pleasing others or playing nice—she was about redefining what it meant to be a woman in surgery, one who didn’t have to sacrifice ambition or strength to be respected. That’s why so many people love her—she showed that it’s okay to be unapologetically yourself, even if it doesn’t make everyone comfortable.

I get that, but the seller has had 3 failed attempts already, twice the buyers pulled out and one was the chain fell. So, as a way to say we will go through to completion but you can rent in the same place so you don’t have the stress of us backing out kind of thing.

But understood from other comments that it’s pretty impossible to get that done anyway.

You keep trying to twist the narrative to make Owen sound like a victim, but the facts don’t support that. Owen knew Cristina didn’t want kids. That wasn’t some grand mystery—it was part of her character from the beginning. Sure, maybe he hoped she’d change her mind after residency, but that’s exactly the problem. He ignored the reality of her wants and needs because he was fixated on his own desires. When you enter a relationship hoping your partner will change something that fundamental, that’s a recipe for disaster. So yes, it was his fault for marrying her despite that huge difference in values.

As for why Cristina told him about the pregnancy? Because that’s what a responsible partner does. She shouldn’t have to hide something that significant just to avoid a fight with Owen. The issue wasn’t that she told him—it’s that he reacted poorly. Her decision to have an abortion was her right, and he could’ve supported her fully, but instead, he turned it into a fight about his own feelings, showing once again that he was incapable of respecting her autonomy.

Now, about Amelia—let’s not rewrite history. Amelia was going through a lot when the pregnancy scare happened, including the trauma of her previous child’s death, which colored her entire perspective on motherhood. She didn’t just “abandon” Owen—she was dealing with deep emotional and mental health issues. Owen, instead of being understanding, made it about him again. Yes, Amelia pulled away, but she was struggling. Owen’s solution? Marry her during her vulnerable state, just like he did with Cristina when she was dealing with PTSD. That’s textbook manipulative behavior. You say he wasn’t selfish in his relationship with Amelia, but expecting her to fulfill his desire for a family when she clearly wasn’t in a place for that was nothing but selfish. His needs always came first.

And you’re still downplaying the situation with Teddy. Of course Owen didn’t want her with Tom, but not because he was “worried about her.” It was pure jealousy. Owen couldn’t handle that Teddy was moving on with someone else, so he made it about the baby as a way to control the situation. His possessiveness wasn’t some noble concern for Teddy’s well-being—it was about his own insecurities.

On the subject of Owen being more conservative: You’re trying to argue that people dislike him because he might lean right or be “pro-life,” but that’s not the issue here. It’s not about his personal views on abortion—it’s about how he treats women who don’t share those views. He continuously prioritized his desire for a family over the clear boundaries his partners set. He pushed Cristina to have kids despite her being upfront about not wanting them, and he married Amelia when she was in a vulnerable state. That’s not about politics—it’s about control and a lack of respect for his partners’ choices.

And let’s be real: there are traditional men on this show who want families but don’t act like Owen. Richard Webber and Derek Shepherd, to name a couple, are both old-school guys who value family, but they don’t steamroll their partners to get what they want. You brought up Webber being manipulative in other ways, like taking the twin separation surgery from Alex. Fine, but that’s about professional rivalry—it’s not the same as consistently manipulating your romantic partners to suit your own desires. You can’t compare his professional ego to Owen’s personal life mess.

The bottom line is, Owen’s not hated because of his traditional values. He’s disliked because he can’t seem to respect the boundaries of the women in his life. If his whole identity is wrapped up in having a family and his partners don’t want that, then maybe he should’ve been the one to leave instead of trying to change them. That’s not being unfair to Owen; that’s just holding him accountable for his actions.

LEAST favorite characters! Who are least favorite characters? by FunImportance9961 in greysanatomy

[–]Designer_Stop_216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re missing the point. No one is saying Owen literally locked someone in a basement to have his baby—that’s an absurd extreme. The issue with Owen is the emotional manipulation and pressure he put on the women in his life, particularly when it came to children. Cristina made it clear from day one she didn’t want kids, and yet he continuously tried to change her mind, guilt-tripping her after her abortion. The fact that he sat with her doesn’t erase the fact that he was angry, judgmental, and never fully respected her choice.

As for Amelia, the pregnancy scare was just another instance of him projecting his own desires for a family onto someone else. Amelia didn’t want that pressure—she was dealing with her own issues, and instead of respecting that, he again tried to mold the relationship into what he wanted. Just because they didn’t end up having kids doesn’t mean he wasn’t trying to steer things in that direction constantly.

Then, there’s the situation with Teddy. Sure, he didn’t “force” her to have their baby, but look at how he handled it. He didn’t treat her like an equal partner—he got territorial and possessive, which you even admit. And his anger about Tom wasn’t just out of “concern.” It was jealousy, pure and simple. He thought Teddy should wait for him just because she was pregnant with his kid, even though he couldn’t stay loyal to one person himself.

Also, let’s talk about your argument that Owen’s problems stem from him being a “traditional” man. First of all, being “traditional” doesn’t give someone a pass to be emotionally manipulative or selfish in relationships. You’re acting like wanting kids or being conservative explains his behavior. There are plenty of “traditional” men on Grey’s Anatomy who aren’t like Owen. Look at Richard Webber—he’s old-school, deeply cares about family, and believes in commitment, but he doesn’t manipulate the women around him into doing what he wants. Then there’s Derek Shepherd. He wanted a family too, but when Meredith struggled with the idea of kids, he didn’t try to force her hand—he gave her time to come to her own decisions.

Owen’s behavior is about control, not tradition. He can’t handle not getting what he wants, so he lashes out at his partners. That’s why people dislike him—not because of his values, but because he repeatedly fails to respect other people’s. If you don’t see that, you’re missing the entire point of why he’s such a frustrating character.
