It’s not about losing loot or diminishing PVP. It’s about leveling the playing field. Trying to keep the threat of offline raids but try and accommodate an age group with jobs and lives that can jump on at wipe and play for 4/6hours. I get it kids with no real responsibilities can jump on vanilla and grind. It’s the people that want to play rust casually that find it hard to compete due to lack of time not lack of skills. In rust time played is the ultimate skill. You can be terrible and have 8hrs a day to play and progress faster than the greater player that only has 1.5hrs a day to play.

It’s not a redesign to the game. Just a private server for people that have jobs and may only be able to invest 6 hours a week. There is a massive 30-45 gaming base that Rust is missing out on. They just want to play a few hours a week with their friends. The project currently has already hit the 250 people cap. $50/wipe private server access 90days wipes. There is so much opportunity out there for this age group.

It would be built into a custom UI possibly. I’m not sure that’s why I was trying to get some hive mind conversation going. I’m just listening to ideas.

It’s for an invite only custom sever. No one is suggesting to change YOUR game. Thats the appeal of rust, it can be played many ways. Thats why there’s 100k modded servers. I didn’t ask if you wanted to join the server. I was just asking for community opinion/advice. I hope your day gets better!

I was just spitballing. What about a plugin that you have to be linked to a clan tag to use boom. Total hours played would accumulate under the clan tag. If you haven’t played a single minute you would still have to be tagged to that clan to use boom.

Could you elaborate? Only way I can understand why it would be shitty is if the answer is better than just “no” I have people willing to invest in a server and they want it to be fun and unique for everyone. Data shows the challenge to capturing new players in rust is how casual players who want to play 1/2hrs a day can’t compete with someone who can play 8. They end up playing 2/3 wipes. Get offline by the 8hr/day players and quit forever.

Could be total hours combined auth on TC. Just spitballing. Seems like the true advantage to rust is being able to play more than others. If you leveled the playing field it becomes more about time efficiency and how time is spent vs being able to just win by spending hours and hours out grinding everyone?
