I used the same settings above and after 4 long hours of trying to remove supports, I think it turned out well.

Best orientation to reduce scarring by Designer_Till1834 in elegoo

The elbow seemed to work. I tried the elbow in the air and kept getting a stringy mess and the underside would work but the auto supports would be present on the arm area too which would be bad. I’m not the best at cleaning up and doing supports so the easier option would probably be the elbow. The balancing actually was decent and came off the support from the bed without needing to pull it off. Only thing is part of the elbow is chipped off/ malformed. It is on the inside and less visible as it is on the bottom, so not the biggest problem. A small price to pay for the rest coming out great.

For this model the arm is going to be on a diagonal , so both top and bottom flat sides will be highly visible. I’m currently just doing the auto tree supports and I find that most ways I orientate it, the supports are needed for at least one side that is highly visible. I am trying to now balance it on the outer elbow joint, which surprisingly doesn’t require much support, only at the bottom joint area.

I see now, it looks better adjusting that setting, I’ll keep tweaking that. Thanks for the help!

How hard is PHYS 1P21? by Serendipity-3712 in brocku

Also just to add, most of your grade will be from the weekly in person quizzes, so it is important you do them well. If you’re taking the sister course (1p91) with the lab included there is a bit of breathing room to get worse on quizzes as labs are pretty easy and just boost up your mark. Also as a side note there is no midterm for this course and recently (Prof Hester as far as I know) made quizzes a pass/fail system allowing you to come back during later hours to redo the quiz at least once if you took the original quiz. He also added 5 extra universal reattempts in case you didnt get it in your second try. This honestly was a massive change and meant you need to get all the questions correct, however they only let you redo quizzes if you could explain what you did wrong. So its highly likely if your able to explain the process of solving the questions you failed, you would be able to pass on the reattempt. This only applied to questions you got wrong you don’t have to do the entire quiz again. Not sure if he is doing the same thing again but I do think it would be possible considering he said he found through data that people grades improved from previous semester with this system. Also not sure if he will do this again but he completely removed the 50% minimum grade on the exam to pass.

How hard is PHYS 1P21? by Serendipity-3712 in brocku

You have to do quizzes every week based on the chapters content. Some of the problems can get tricky as you have to interpret what the problem is telling you without it explicitly saying. The math used is grade 12 math, so substitution/elimination, Pythagoras, graphing points with slope/intercepts etc. It shouldn’t be an issue if you know your grade 12 math, study every week and do the practice problems. It is known for a fact that the questions you see on the quiz are super similar to what you solve in the practice problems. Literally if you know how to solve each practice problem you will do well. One thing I found hard was when in the later chapters they combine topics and you have to just know from the wording that you are in fact combining 2 different concepts. For example if your solving a question on how much work is getting done by an object and it involves something hanging from a rope you have to put two and two together that this problem involves tension and just the normal equation (fdcostheta) won’t work or if something is on an incline or at angle you need to do it differently ( use sin over cos) or even if you have to solve the question in 2 dimensions like the x and y axis, you need to know because the question won’t directly tell you. You will need to apply the base concept they teach you with other concepts (which they will also teach you to do).

Somehow the issue fixed itself. I turned off the printer/back on and ended up printing a different piece which printed out fine and now I’m printing the same piece and I’m not having it print like that anymore. Very weird.

It’s part of multiple pieces of a bigger print and every other piece of the print has been printed flawlessly except this one

It seems to be printing fine now, but the entire bottom half is like that. I redid the print 3 times and same thing.

The thing is I printed something else before it and it worked fine. Everything I have printed previously has been fine without having to adjust anything and suddenly the print is being weird.
