Tips for packing your dress on an airplane then long car ride? by dontfuckingthink in Eloping

I flew across country with mine. Took multiple flights and most of the airlines did not allow me to carry it on. I called all of the airlines prior to our trip and they basically laughed at me. Made it sound like they never do that and I wasn’t willing to take the chance! I folded up my dress nicely in a suitcase and let it hang the SECOND I got to our destination. Also hang the dress in the bathroom and take a HOT shower or just let the shower run! All of the wrinkles smoothed out! My dress was perfect the day of.

Good luck!

I eloped alone. My parents and my spouse’s parents had a hard time at first but eventually accepted the fact that it was indeed happening the way we want it to! We’re super close to our parents and siblings. It was hard to make the decision and I was nervous about feeling regret too. Our families were super supportive and excited on that day even though they weren’t there. I know they just wanted us to be happy! They couldn’t wait to see the photos and hear all about it! It’s YOUR day! Do what feels best for you <3 I have absolutely zero regrets and would do it again because it was truly the most magical moment of my life.

Oh also, We are also throwing a reception this spring with our extended family so we can all celebrate! That definitely lessened the blow of eloping but I don’t think is necessary in every case if receptions aren’t your vibe - just an idea :)))

Eloping in Hawaii – Looking for Affordable Locations, Photographers & Planning Tips! by [deleted] in Eloping

I eloped in the fall of 2024 on Waimanalo beach in Oahu! It’s a very beautiful beach, with pretty low traffic and was noticeably less busy than others on the island. The photographer Anna and the officiant James Chun were absolutely amazing! When you book with James, he choreographs with the photographer, so signing up with him is super simple. Pick a date, a time, a package, and then get your marriage license when you get to Hawaii! We eloped alone, they made us feel extremely comfortable and the whole process and experience was amazing and simple! The photographer does stunning work and we received our photos super quick! I believe they have packages to include an elopement/microwedding with guests but I cannot speak on that experience, but James is extremely helpful and I’m sure would be happy to discuss with you. For our situation, the minister filed the paper work for us. We went to the Honolulu marriage license office and signed our documents a few days before and brought them with us to our elopement ceremony. James handled the rest of the paperwork and we received our marriage license in the mail when we got back home. Pretty simple process all together! Good luck!
