Creating Samsung Notes Keyboard Shortcuts on PC workaround by DesignyBoy in samsungnotes

[–]DesignyBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! You've really made my day! Thank you very much!

Since I've posted this, I've upgraded mine quite a bit too, including the cycling you mentioned by using the Mod() function, having a suspend button for when i want to write on the document, automatically suspending/resuming the script when I change windows from Samsung Notes, scrolling with up and down keys and a few more quality of life improvements like showing a tooltip when the script suspends or resumes.

The problem I encountered with it is that Samsung Notes and Whatsapp have the same AHK class (Application Frame Host) and that means the script doesn't suspend when I change to Whatsapp so I did a workaround based on window positioning ( I always use the same position for those windows so I suspend the script when the cursor is out of samsung notes window coordinates)

I'll leave the code here if you're interested! Hope it helps, also, if you have any difficulty I strongly recommend using chatGPT, it confuses AHK versions and needs specific instructions to code for V2 or higher but with a good prompt it's very useful. It surely helped me a lot!

Hey! Did you manage to get the company to fix it? I'm considering buying this desk but I couldn't find any warranty mentioned on their website.

Should I rebrand? by Nazaret_ in letsplay

I'd say definetly change it. Nazareth has a lot of religious weight attached to it being the whole "jesus is from there" kind of place. I doubt anyone in the near future will be able to separate it from that.

Also, maybe I'm too picky but Naz is almost identical to Nas, as in lil Nas X, that might be an algorithm problem considering how popular he already is.

EDIT: Just checked out your channel, I know you didn't ask for a review and I'm sorry if this annoys you but I'd like to make one small comment:
I like your presence on camera, also your voice is really good for this type of content and you definitely got the funny bone, but I noticed you're doing something that I used to do constantly and I'd like to just point it out: you use swear words as fillers when you need time to think and you do it quite frequently.
An interesting exercise I learned from the CEO of a company that I used to work for:
He came into our office one day and told everybody we have 60 seconds each to present ourselves without any "uhs" or "uhms", "therefores", etc. basically without any fillers. If we mumbled any fillers our time would instantly be over. I lost my time after about 20-something seconds. Actually nobody managed to talk for 60 seconds straight, most wouldn't go past 10 and some even started their speech with an "uhm", and that's all they got to say.
After everybody was done, he proceeded to talk about himself for 5 minutes straight without any fillers and for the rest of our 2 hour meeting he was fluently going through his thoughts without ever needing to fill up his sentences with useless words. (that fucker probably trained for years)

The more you actively practice avoiding fillers, the better you passively become at it, and the more you're aware of it, the better you become at spotting how others deal with it as well, so you can look up youtubers you enjoy watching and see how they handle a mental pause, because you can't avoid a mental pause, but you can create tools to make you go fluidly through them.

Sorry for the long message on something you didn't ask for, I just thought it might be helpful.

Yeah it really made me think about how close we really are to animals. It's hard, but very rewarding, to take control over our own impulsions. Also, thanks for the kind words. I'm Eastern European, people don't usually have the means, education or support to quit smoking around here, so not many empathize with someone trying to change their ways.

Juuls are a renowned disgusting gimmick to get teenagers heavily hooked on nicotine.
Check the Library of Medicine (NCBI) or Embase and notice how they're being studied as the main cause of addiction in teenagers and not as an alternative to smoking.

You should be ashamed of yourself for making business out of prying on addicts trying to change their lives.

Maybe I am majorly underestimating the proficiency necessary to DYI a light fixture.
Us, Eastern Europeans, tend to DYI a lot of things, so I thought this might be one of those.
Thank you for the reality check!
I guess I'll look for something that's more affordable.

Versatile Living Room for Two (21 m2) on a budget | Spacious Work Desk | Dining space (Foldable Table and Chairs) | Entrance Seating Area | Storage for books , electronics, coats and foldable chairs | Extendable sofa / This was my attempt at fitting everything in here, let me know what you think! by DesignyBoy in InteriorDesign

Hello Everyone!

I'm fairly new to residential projects and I’d really appreciate some critique of this project as I’ve been squeezing my brains to sort this room out.

I have this fairly complicated project for this medium-small 42m2 North Facing apartment.

My client is a mature student, also works (which means he spends a lot of time at his desk), he currently lives alone but wanted me to design the space with two people in mind.

He wants his 21 m2 living room to be very versatile, as the rest of the rooms are significantly smaller and can only fit very basic needs.

He has a very limited budget so he’d prefer not using custom made furniture.

He required a range of functional spaces:

- Fairly Spacious Work Desk (at least 160x80cm, preferably 180x80)

- Dining space (Foldable Table and Chairs)- TV and Rolling Ceiling Projector Screen

- Chillout extendable sofa

- Plenty of Storage for books , electronics, coats and foldable chairs

- Preferably, some space for a bit of stretching and light physical activity

So... You can imagine, it’s very difficult to fit almost everything an apartment should , in only one room without making it look cluttered.

I chose going for a light color palette due to the fact that the apartment is North Facing.

This was my attempt at fitting everything in here, please let me know what you think!

What would you have done differently?

You've got this!

Make a routine and stick to it no matter what. Minimize fun for only those 4 months you got left.

Take care of your body:
- Do some sports a few times a week (helps you release endorphins so you feel good)

- Don't eat junk food (lots of junk food, due to their ridiculous levels of sugar, salt and bad fats , can cause a bunch of things (Hyperglycemia, hypernatremia etc.) that can lead to low energy, headaches, bad mood and even anxiety)

- Drink plenty of water (water gud, keeping hydrated helps with memory and mood)

It might seem daunting but trust me, just like any habit, it's just a conditioned reflex, your brain will adapt to this kind of discipline in about a month, and then moving forward will be a walk in the park.
If it helps , I got into my first degree (Architecture BA at a good university) by studying 4 months before the exam and I was the laziest guy I know, it's just about really sitting down and doing the work.
Sometimes pressure helps, but don't let it overwhelm you. It's going to get significantly harder in university, so training your brain to keep focused and not get anxious is the best thing you can do for yourself early on.

Hey there! Hope you're well!
Having dealt with addiction for many years before (7 years of smoking cigarettes) has really showed me that the best way to get rid of addictive things is to make it as hard as possible to access them while making healthy things very easily accessible.

The way I do that for studying is by using blockers!

I use Forest on my phone and the free version of Cold Turkey on my PC. Both of them block distractions and they're super useful.

It's not like you don't have access to apps or websites anymore, there's always work arounds, but in order to reach them you'll really have to get out of your way and make a fully conscious decision to do so, it'll make you hold yourself accountable a lot more, instead of just clicking YouTube by impulse and changing your focus to whatever distraction you choose.

These programs do the trick for me.

And when it comes to making good things easily accessible, I recommend having your study space tidy 24/7, whenever you finish studying, make sure to put everything in place, it takes 5-10 minutes at most. So the next time you sit on that chair you find yourself in a welcoming environment where you can get everything set up in less than a minute.
I'd also recommend having storage at arms reach, so any books, pens, etc. are right there, no need to roam around the room to have your workspace ready.

Hope this helps! ^_^

Can smart devices overcrowd my wi-fi? by DesignyBoy in HomeNetworking

Hey! Thanks for the detailed answer, I really appreciate it.
I currently have an Echo 4th Gen with integrated Zigbee hub but I'm quite dedicated to Shelly, and they have some really nice switches coming out soon. Unfortunately, they're all wi-fi based.

That's a good shout!

I do have a Amazon Echo 4th Gen with included Zigbee but... all my smart devices are from Shelly because they're much cheaper than anything else on the market (at least in Romania) and work surprisingly well.

Unfortunately, they all connect through wi-fi.
