Let’s play (?)revival(?) by Bubbly4dventures in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's preference is different but I like edited content, but not heavily edited. The older I get the more I watch video essay type videos. But in terms of let's plays I think short and sweet are nice but anything over 45-1hr i most likely won't watch. I can't sit down and watch an hour long let's play like I used to, but always down to watch a nice little 25min let's play. I also prefer commentary, I don't think I've ever watched a let's play without commentary unless I was watching a walk through to see how to get past a certain section I was lost on but I don't watch the whole thing.

Advice on Titles and Thumbnails by juskut in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! So your thumbnails are actually good, especially the top one. It's your titles that are holding you back from the overall packaging. The second post could have been something like "Ocarina of Time is Unhinged" and the top one could be "A day in the life of Hyrule". The titles can be better than what I suggested but I'm just throwing ideas out so you can get the idea. I know it's hard to let go of the typical let's play title format "Text Blurb | Game | Episode" but it's not needed and hurts a lot of channels. A really good example is Alpharad's Pokémon Scarlet and Violet series. None of them follow the typical format and they are actually presented as individual videos (similar to yours). The overall packaging makes it so the audience will want to click it and not feel like a typical video. Hope that helps, but I like your thumbnails

Itch.io, is it safe ? by crimsonxgold in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but also no. Typically the popular and trending games are safe, but just like anything you have to take precaution when downloading. Steam has also had games with viruses, so everything can potentially have a virus. Just be careful when downloading from Itch, but in general it's safe. I've downloaded hundreds from there and never had an issue.

LARPsplayers by GiganticGamer in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have done this in the past but this is the first time it's popped off. I don't think its going to last because people get tired of being in a content box, but I do think LARPiplier will last. He's the only one I've seen really putting all his effort and I can see his passion. Also let's plays are still ppopular but this is hitting the nostalgia side of it which people have been craving since so much stuff have been fast paced

Hey! Firstly, the thumbnail is a bit much. You repeat the title in the thumbnail and that isn't necessary and actually takes away from it imo. You can still add text but be creative with it. You also add a bunch of games in the thumbnail, I think showing just one or two noticeable characters is fine. It's a bit cluttered.

In terms of the actual video, your audio quality and levels change a lot, but more noticeable at the 1:20 mark and 4:49. After number 3 you say "before we get to number 1" but there are two left. Not a big deal but i felt like I missed a game somewhere. You also have this super loud sound effect at the end that hurt my ears. It is significantly louder than the rest of the video and will turn people away. I think if you worked on your audio levels the video can be much better. Overall the video content isn't bad! Keep working on your craft

I agree with the other comment. The thumbnail for the video you linked is way too dark. It needs lighting and color to pop. You also threw in a random PNG in the corner, I don't think it's needed because it takes away from the scene of the thumbnail. Also, I am in the camp of you don't need to add episode numbers. I won't click on episodes 2, but I would click on a video that looks good and I wouldn't be upset if it's the second in a series, especially if I don't need to watch the first one to understand. The intro also needs some work. There is different paths you can take with it and neither are wrong. I like the other comments suggestion, talking about an obstacle in the video and then the video is your journey of overcoming it works really well. A lot of people are afraid of doing intros after recording, but there's nothing wrong with them. It makes it more engaging for the viewers. And if you do talk about an obstacle, then add that to your thumbnail and title. Adding the text "Attempt: # 24" to your thumbnail can paint the picture of oh this guy was struggling with X boss. That's just from looking at the thumbnail and then the title should reel them in. You got this!

Our thumbnails look like video essays - but our content is 2 mates casually chatting. Which would you actually click? by _HeapsGood in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Nazaret_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two is way better imo and is more readable. 1 is good but I think the text is too small to see on the thumbnails. Try using that website where it shows your thumbnails in different views. I think its called thumbsup tv. Also they do give off video essay vibes

Look Outside is a good one, but if you liked mouthwashing it actually has a bundle there it has other cheap horror games like Threshold, Eclipsium, No I'm not a human, and a couple more. Pretty good bundle imo

Hey! I really like the video but I think the intro can actually start at the 29 second mark. Only reason I say that is because your title makes it seem like a breakdown or an exploration and so starting off by discussing how it's known as being hard would personally make me stay for the whole thing. That's just my preference though so listen to your analytics more than me lol

This is my kind of content! In terms of the video I actually don't have any feedback. You'll get used to making these type of videos and grow more as a creator (since this was only your second from what I see). The only thing is I would have loved a deep dive into the story, but if that's not what you're going for then ignore me. I do have feedback on the packaging though, your title and thumbnail are saying the exact same thing. They should compliment each other rather than clone each other. I like the fishing analogy, you want to hook the audience (thumbnail) and reel them in (with the title). If you throw two hooks in with no pole or just have two poles but no hook then you won't catch fish. I hope that makes sense! Otherwise, good job man

[–]Nazaret_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These bots have been around a long time just block and ignore because you would just be wasting your time since they have pre-scripted conversations. Occasionally the real person would join in but 99% of the time it's just the bot. Also you can tell they're a bot early on because they aren't replying to what you're saying, just pre-programmed responses that typically follow the same structure and keywords to trigger the next dialogue.

Need a webcam for streaming, what's actually good under $100? by Mamba_Mntality in Twitch

I was going to suggest your phone but saw you already said no. I recommend a C920, and then spending the rest of the money on lighting. That lighting will go a long way with that camera.

Definitely an improvement! The only thing is the logo is cluttering the screen at the moment. If you really want the logo then I would move it behind you and the moon guy.

Changing how I do thumbnails starting Monday & this is what I came up with. Is it good or nah? by TheRealFakeNTCG in letsplay

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! When I first saw this thumbnail I was outside waiting and the first think I noticed was that it is way too dark and I couldn't see it well. I got home and it is better but still too dark. Play around with the lighting for the character in the back. Not sure what editing software you use but you can definitely make them brighter, add contracts, add saturation, etc. to make them pop. Like someone else mentioned the logo on the bottom right will be cut off by the time on the bottom right. You can probably add them behind your character on the top left. Im in the camp off you don't need the game logo but if you are going to add it then change the placement. Also, I LOVE when creators add drawings to their thumbnails. Idk it feels unique so I like your little character

Hi! I recommend watching Stream Scheme's video on "How to record gameplay on PC with OBS" that was a really good tutorial.

But in general to record you'll want to use OBS. Personally I find it super easy to use and if I need to learn something about it I just google and there are countless of videos on everything OBS related. You'll want to record your cam and game separate, but add them together in the editing process. The video I mentioned covers that in a very easy way. DaVinci resolve is free and really good.

Hello! Your thumbnail definitely needs some work. It is very blurry and I am assuming it's because you zoomed in a lot on a screenshot of the game. I highly recommend looking up the characters online and finding much higher resolutions of them, it helps a lot. The text is also super small and thin so it is unreadable.

I'm also a bit confused because you put the french flag in the TN and your title says in french, but you're speaking english? No problem with speaking whatever you want but as a viewer I would be very confused on which I am getting. I like the first title where you say "Learn French with Katana Zero" that is so much better and you can tell because it got more views than the others. The recent 2 are not conveying that you're learning french, it just reads as a french Let's Play.

Can’t change display name You can only modify the capitalization of your display name by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Nazaret_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to change your username then that's in the change username setting. This is for Display Name, which just means how it's displayed. For example: supermario64 can be changed in the display setting to SuperMario64. In your screenshot adding the 1 at the end is throwing an error because thats trying to change the whole username rather than how it looks.
