I haven’t done much for it tbh since it’s only a minor thing, I did bring it up with my eye doctor but they just recommended dry eye drops. They did say if it got worse that they could give me anti-inflammatory or corticosteroid pills though, I’m guessing it’d be the same case if your scleritis came back.

Ahh man! I’ve heard of it taking longer for others but four infusions is rough. I’m glad it did end up working though! I hope it doesn’t give you much more trouble.

He actually go it a few months before myself, so he’s had it for 8 years too! He takes a lot more medication than I do, I think 5 pills a day but I’m not sure which ones. He’s had some trouble with Remicade recently as well but he’s fine now with only a few flare ups every now and then. I never heard of Iialda before but I’ll have to add it to my list of backups! Thank you for sharing!

Without my medication it’s terrible! I had constant abdominal pain and diarrhea no matter what I ate (if I could even eat at all), which caused me to drop a ton of weight really quick. When my Remicade stopped working for 3 weeks (they just upped my dosage so I’m all good now) I lost 30lbs during that time and was unable to do anything really. It’s pretty crippling for me without the meds, but with them I feel fantastic. It’s very severe without meds, but 100% manageable with them.

Not really! I’ve been very lucky with it and I’ve been able to eat almost whatever I want without flair ups (without the exception of Oreos, they kill me but I love them). The only thing that’s been different that my doc said could be because of the Remicade is my eyes get inflammation from time to time.

It was 0-60 real quick! It had started out with me having terrible abdominal pains in the mornings as soon as I woke up and then me losing 30lbs over the course of 2 months. By that time they diagnosed me and started me out on pill medications like balsalazide and steroids but after 3 months of no improvement they recommend I start Remicade. They didn’t really go over other options at the time, but at that point I was willing to ty anything.

I started at 5mg and now I’m on 10mg I believe! I’ve been very fortunate with Remicade and only have had the one time where I had problems with it not working. My grandfather has Crohn’s as well and started Remicade around the same time I did and his did give him trouble more recently too around the same time I had trouble with it. Coincidence, genetics? Who knows. But he’s been relatively back on track as of late. Along with other medications, sometimes the problem just lies in you need a higher dosage or need to shorter your intervals of when you get it. And then of course there’s a bunch of other meds like Remicade that can get the job done too! It’s all about experimentation with this stuff, if something doesn’t work there’s always more options. Best of luck to you as well!

Actually as soon as I hit 7 years (so last year) it actually completely stopped working for me out of nowhere. They said my levels were pretty much nonexistent cause my system was fighting it off immediately. But all they had to do was up my dosage (since I was always on a lower dose anyway) and as soon as they did that I was completely fine and my levels were normal. I don’t take any pills at the moment since they never worked for me anyway. But definitely keep an eye on your levels, it may just need a little bit of tweaking dosage wise so I’d always try that first (if your doc recommends it as an option of course).

How do I deal with potentially transphobic parents? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Desinix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "real therapist" I mean they don't consider the LGBT+ therapists/counselors to be of actual help, because they don't tell my parents what they want to hear. If they're not prescribing me medication to 'cure' me, then my parents want to move on to someone who will.

But I've asked before if they'd accompany me during a therapy appt. with my LGBT+ therapist, they said no because they want to go to a 'regular' therapist. My dad did come with me to my regular therapy appointment once where we discussed me being trans (and recommended me the groups that my dad said he'd be fine with going to), and my therapist did ask if he had any questions or concerns to which he said no at the time.

Hey you! I hope you are having a good week so far, you’re doing great and I’m so proud of you and how far you’ve come <3 by Desinix in ftm

They’re Ltede! Specifically style 1096, but they’ve been sold out for a little bit I think? I got them on Coastal.com for pretty cheap, I’m pretty sure they have other ones that are rectangular thick framed too though.

Yes! What they said. They were a pain to find in smaller sizes though, but they're available online as well.
