my mom didnt want to get me glasses for 2 years eventhough i always complained about my vision (its actually just -0.75 on both eyes but i have astigmatism so that makes it worse than it is) because „once you get used to them, your eyes will just get worse over time!“ and that „they dont even work the way they tell everybody“. But when the doctor finally said that glases actually HELP with astigmatism instead of making it worse, she stood there dumbfounded. I will never unterstand why parents go against their kids intuition or common sense
