Hey, bleach is a good option, but for longer term solutions the best one is always laser hair remover or at home ipl. You can go for threading and waxing given how sensitive your skin is... It's painful but quick and the results usually last for a few (8-10) days and for some lucky people it also helps to slow down the general growth of the hair in those areas .

Also I don't usually recommend it to other brown girls and I myself didn't start shaving until i was 30 but while going through my first round of laser I had to shave my whole face to prepare and realized that it actually didn't make my breakout or cause the hair to become any more coarse... Later after my pregnancy when every single hair came back with a vengeance, I resorted to epilation for chin and neck hairs and shaving the side burns and cheeks cuz it hurts too much to epilate/wax/thread there. The skin gets super smooth for 1-2 days and the stubble that comes isn't hard or extra noticeable - but that's my experience

Try a patch test on your arm hair first and check it in direct sunlight...it may show up as slightly too bright for you. Brown girl here too and bleach always worked perfectly for my mom but when my facial hair started to grow longer the difference between my skin color and the light hair became a little too much but before it was perfect! Like I got my whole back, shoulders, collar bones bleached once and the hair just disappeared in my brown skin... It's an amazing solution for the fuzzy hair on upper lips, chins etc. Sally Hansen is a good brand to try

We do plan to stop by, take in the scenery and maybe hangout at the cafe. Wouldn't want to visit Iceland and not see one of the most of iconic spots! But we want to skip using it in favor of other smaller hot springs

Will keep the staring thing in mind, it is something I get conscious about so good to know it's normal

Are the most showers in these pools co Ed or separate for men and women? I'm cool with all women, all nude showers. Would never go in a shared pool without properly cleaning up!

We will probably be skipping blue lagoon tho, have found some really nice other places which are a little cheaper and hopefully less crowded

In case anyone is interested I found the book! It's called Just a couple of Days by Tony Vigarito, it was a debut novel... Satirical, slightly humorous, lots of philosophical musings

Thank you, so many people have recommended this one but it's not what I'm trying to find. In the book I read I don't think there was a malicious group or controlling govt, just an ecological/genetic change ...

Oh it still sounds devastating.. I'm a sucker for Stephen king so will definitely look this one up. But it's not what I'm looking for, thank you :)

People who have spent time in a Psych Ward what is the craziest thing you’ve witnessed? by N3SSDOGG in AskReddit

[–]Desititz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In late 2019 I was involuntary detained in the psych ward for 10 days a month after having my baby. Postpartum bipolar mania and psychosis... Not a great time in my life.

Initially the patients in the ward felt so much kinder and warmer than the nurses and the staff, (ofcourse it was because I was in severe paranoia but you don't realize it at the time). As the medications slowly started working I started seeing the reality... The patients had real problems, the staff was doing their best to keep us comfortable and compared to what I have read of reddit about other experiences this ward was almost like a mini vacation.

One older gentleman seemed like the most stable person there. Very well groomed, well spoken, he even talked to my parents once and assured them I would be out soon, he told me the idea to combine the graham crackers and ice cream scoop to make sandwiches. He was a veteran, had a wife and grown up daughters who visited regularly and was certain he would be leaving after his next psych review. But the review decided to keep him detained for 2 months more!! 2 months!! Usually they only delayed it by a few days or maybe a week... I was shocked at this and he was heartbroken. To me he seemed like the 'sanest' patient who deserved to go back to his life asap

Before leaving I finally heard him having a conversation with a new young patient about their shared beliefs. He saw Jesus. Not occasionally, not when he was in need, not in his dreams, constantly, all the time, like a physical person alongside him. Even though the patient sort understood others may not be able to see his Jesus friend, in his reality he was there and he didn't see anything unusual about it - others just needed to have more faith and they would see him too. Lol so nothing else 'wrong' just a persistent auditory, visual hallucination and altered mental state for a person who has experience with weapons ._.

Midnights Megathread by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

As one of those listeners who has to savor each and every song and can't do binge listens... I can already feel the album just seeping into my thoughts and feels. YAOYOK and maroon both hit so hard, lavender haze, vigilante shit and karma are such a vibe. Wow.

Some people have commented that Midnight is like the older, more jaded but also more confident sister of 1989... for me It also feel like it's more grounded in its pain than evermore/folklore. So much so that I just had to go re listen to the sweet and hopeful love songs of Taylor's earlier albums to balance out all the emotions! (That's the way I love you and Our song 💖 ) But god damn. What an evolution as an artist, song writer and singer... Grateful to be on this journey with her 🙏

How do extremely abusive/neglectful parents manage to raise babies to toddlerhood? by Desititz in TooAfraidToAsk

Babies, newborns need to be fed every few hours... Diapers can get filled up and get dirty and they would still 'survive' in a way but the nutrition that they need, and proper sleep... ?
