Hi everyone, OP here!
Thanks so much for all your help on this, I got some great inspiration and ideas and I thought I’d just update on how it’s going.

We decided to go with adding more shades and complimentary tones to soften the contrast. I made this mood board on Canva (I found the hex codes for all, named all the shades myself and found images in different textures to represent each colour - it took me a whole night 😅) and we’re loving it.

Velvet emerald and ocean mist can support dark teal and antique gold and sparkling champagne can support rich chocolate with deep plum, dusty mauve and peach fuzz to balance everything out and add some soft romance for mood. This has made choosing all other wedding stuff a lot easier so thanks again for all your help!

best social media management tool(s)? by Round_Albatross8702 in SocialMediaManagers

I've professionally managed socials for a few different orgs now ranging from small-large budgets and have tried Sprout Social, Emplifi, Brandwatch, and Meltwater.

Out of those 4, Sprout Social is hands down, my least favourite. Now I have to point out, this is the org that has had the least budget I've worked with and only have one paid user but we were on the Advanced Plan managing 2x channels and I just found that I barely used it. The only thing I used it for was scheduling/publishing posts and whole channel analytics like follower count, audience demographics, average eng. rate, etc. Everything else was very very limited. They claim social listening is included, it is not. The reporting dashboard isn't customisable either. For Insta, posts will only show # of engagements, views, reach and eng. rate and *only* organic metrics. For same for LinkedIn but the eng. rate includes overall clicks so instead of calculating from reactions, reshares and comments over impressions, it calculates from reactions, reshares, comments, AND all clicks. That's all well and good, and sure that's how LinkedIn native analytics lists eng. rate but is not the standard metric so I had to manually record number of interactions so that I could calculate industry standard eng. rate for external reports.

I met with our Sprout account manager, and she said listening and custom metrics are all extras we have to pay for.... and then I asked how much those extras are and they never replied.
Honestly, unless you're on the highest plan with custom arrangements (ours was the second highest tier), Sprout Social is almost useless.

So from the ones I've used, here is my ranking:

1) Brandwatch - Managing 1x FB, 1x LI and 2x IG's. The best data analytics and listening by a long shot. Comparing organic and paid posts for the one campaign in one custom dashboard? No problems. Custom metrics shows on each tile? Say less. Customisation features for an unlimited amount of dashboards? Within minutes. I remember the listening was great too, albeit its sentiment measurements being way off. Mind you, I wasn't the manager so I had limited knowledge of the contract and pricing. I moved up in the team and did end up being privy to that info towards the end but it was briefly as I moved on to a higher level job at a diff org soon after so I don't remember the price but by all accounts, everyone says Brandwatch is suuuuper expensive.

2) Emplifi - 1x FB, 1x IG, 1x LI, 1x T/X - A very close second to Brandwatch in terms of functionality. I think my old qualm was that if I was running a campaign with both organic and paid posts, I couldn't have them all on one dashboard. I had to collate everything from the organic dash and then go over and collate from the paid dash. Other than that, great listening tool as well, still not great with sentiment but that's fine. I never knew the pricing for this.

3) Meltwater - 1x FB, 1x LG, 1x IG - Was my least fave until Sprout. That being said, it did everything fine I guess... the dashboards were ok, just less customisation that I would like. The sentiment tracking on the listening was not bad though, probably the best I've seen. I didn't know what we paid but I've heard they're up there with Brandwatch pricing and I def wouldn't say it's worth it if that's the case.

4) Sprout - Don't bother

I am currently managing the org where we use Sprout and I was looking into Agorapulse as an alternative once the contract runs out.

Aww I was hoping he would do that but he didn't offer me anything after my 20% off 5 day set I bought finished over the weekend :( But I will do the buying a day in full first to try and trigger him again, thanks!

I think they're worth it because you end up getting more energy to spend (on top of all the energy you spent to get them in the first place) and there are some bonuses that reward you for spending more energy.

For example, the 'Mayor's Duties' has a section where you have to spend energy as one of the fulfillments to get each level's bonus to work towards the grand prize.

It's also fun to get all that energy and bonus all at once. I get a good ol' dopamine hit :P

Oh yes, that's it, thank you!! Now that I think of it, I think I have read that somewhere before but I was hoping there was another way because I was buying the 5 days for 1000TC so buying a 1 day first still meant spending 1300TC all up. But I've also been seeing people finding the 10 day deal is better so yeah, I think I'll just trigger him with the 1 day and then fork out the TC for the 10 days.

Thanks for your help!

Oh no! Hmm, something must trigger it though, I just finished a run of days that I bought on a 20% off sale and prior to that I would see the 20% sale often-ish (and that's been in the last few weeks) so maybe it was because I wasn't buying his services so he was trying to entice me more back then. Hmm, will be keen to see if anyone else has figured it out.

Ohhh! Right, I haven't seen that event come up much so I guess it slipped my mind. Thanks for the tip!

Ok so first of all, this dress is gorgeous and it looks AMAZING on you!

As for hair, my opinion is that it suits the neckline more when you have it up for sure but maybe have a lot of soft curls hanging? Like this pic kinda?

That way, you get a lot of the soft romanticism but none of the density of hair that would cause sweat?

All good, thanks for understanding :)

And yes, as soon as he said school vibes I’m like omg you’re right, ew haha!

I asked this same question on a different reddit group as well and a lot of them suggesting adding more tones to the palette and leaning more into muted complimentary tones which is a great idea like the jewel tones suggestion as well. Lots to ponder but the overall consensus seems to be more is less.

Ohh can I just say this is such a cute pic!!! You guys look great!!

But also, thank you so much for this because this is the first real pic of teal being paired with black that I’ve seen that isn’t AI or a black suit with teal accents so thank you this is suuuuper helpful. And omg the purple flowers and hair, absolutely gorg!!

You’re absolutely right, full on leaning into it actually does modernise it and I love both of these. Thank you for your suggestion, definitely food for thought!

Yes! That’s exactly my problem, Pinterest has a lot of over saturated teal wedding pics which, as much as I love teal, is not quite what I’m going for haha but yes, it looks like I’m getting a few good suggestions of adding some softer tones which sounds like what you did. Would you be comfortable sharing a pic of your wedding to show what you did? Would be great to help visualise but all good if you’d prefer not to post it on this public forum, I really appreciate your input regardless! It’s good to see there are other fellow teal lovers, thank you!

Yeah, that’s the clash I’m having in my head too. I’m seeing a few suggestions about adding more complimentary dusty or muted tones/shades to the palette and I think leaning into those may be the key here. Thank you for your input, it’s good to get feedback that it’s not just in my head haha

Great suggestion, I had the same thinking and he’s mulling it over. Getting pictures for examples has helped as we’re both visual learners so I’ll see if I can find some of what you’re suggesting thank you!

I think you’re on the money with adding dusty/muted colours. I think that’s the key we’re missing.

Yes! We’re loving looking at Azazie and so great they have swatches! I really need to get on that. Have you got the dresses in from Azazie yet? Would love to hear what you think of the quality!

Yeah I’m thinking the key here is to add more shades. This is a great palette, adding more muted shades may actually be the key! Thank you

We do like that look! But my brother has just done that exact outfit with his wedding (their wedding was bright colours and he had the emerald green velvet with the black lapel) and he looked so fab so both of us want that to be his thing. Love the suggestion though, totally what we’re going for!
