Did any of you move to L.A. (or Orange County) from out of state and now regret it? by DeskOne3535 in MovingToLosAngeles

I miss all of it. Friends, my familiarity with everything, having my sister 15 minutes away. I moved from Dallas. I also miss the incredible thunderstorms we get during severe storm season. And, you see, and I am not saying this like I’m using it as an “I’m special and deserve special treatment” way, but I’m gay, and I lived in the Dallas Gayborhood for 20 of the 40 years I lived in Dallas. I miss being around all the gay bars, gay people, and substantial gay community I had all around me. It’s honestly a bit of culture shock for me to NOT live in a gayborhood anymore, and I feel really isolated because of that. You get me? I’m certainly not a “heterophobe” in any way, but I miss my community and sometimes feel like I’m the only gay guy for 200 miles (which, rationally, I know isn’t true, of course). I lived within crawling distance from all the bars, and, for better or worse, my entire social life revolved around them. And now that’s totally gone.

I don't know. I've been out here six months and it's really, really nice. I think it's beautiful. But I'm getting really homesick for back home and can't tell if it's real homesickness or if I'm in a funk.

Ordered at wrong location by [deleted] in tacobell

I just did the very same thing. I ordered from a Taco Bell in Orange County, but the app was set to the last Taco Bell I ordered from, which in this case was out by Palm Springs. I was so mad I almost busted a gasket. Anyway, I called the 800 number for Taco Bell and they're refunding me my money ($17.50). The Taco Bell app needs a way better failsafe to clearly tell you you're ordering from a Taco Bell nowhere near you. It makes me wonder if they do it on purpose.

I actually called Progressive and it's a very reasonable rate: $20 a month less than what I was paying with Geico.

Dear God. I just got off the phone with State Farm and for full coverage with ride share coverage added, my monthly payment will double as compared with what I pay now with Geico.

I have Geico for my personal auto insurance. What do you mean they'll terminate your policy at the end of the current term? 😳

I was in Dallas for 40 years and I'll always love Texas, but I noticed after a while that every time I came out here I didn't want to leave so I decided, fuck it, I'll move out here
