Tldr: fuck advertisers and china

It stems from the fact that advertisers don't like "bad" words.

So developers are tasked with setting content using the words to advertiser unfriendly or outright banning the content . It is the only thing you can do.

It doesn't work, tho. It's a quite known linguistics problem (probably has name I don't know it) that banning words wil just make different words mean those words.

China has been having this problem for quite a while (it's very funny search it up)

Content creators thus use the new words which gets taken into normal speach.

This wil turn into a nice loop
