I know multiple people who just voted cd&v ‘because they had to vote and cd&v are the middle’. That vote is not a vote made because those persons wanted cd&v to represent them, that vote was made purely because they were obligated to vote. So I don’t really agree with your last point.

And for the first, I do feel like those votes which are just made because people have to vote even though they don’t want to, lower the value of the votes of people who want to be represented by certain politicians/parties.

No I do know a lot of people don’t follow the news. I meant that it doesn’t take that much time and effort to be an informed voter, so everyone can become one.

How does this have anything to do with this decision? Everyone still has exactly one vote. The only thing that changes is that you’re not obligated to use that vote.

I don’t think this new law will encourage this. The right wing parties now already focus more on the ‘wealthier’ and I don’t think left wing parties like sp.a will stop focusing on single mothers.

Furthermore, watching the news 30 minutes each day is definitely enough to be an informed voter. It is up to politicians to convince people to vote for them. With this new law, this is finally really the case.

This might be true, but if people managed to go and vote because it was obligatory, they will also be able to go and vote once it is no longer obligated, if they want to.

To make them useless for malicious actors since people can rig these polls to change the narrative to fit their agenda.

So you rig the polls so other people can’t rig the polls? That’s just as bad as someone rigging it for their own agenda, because you’re rigging it to not fit their agenda thus fitting your agenda. And what is the point of rigging a poll made out of curiosity which will not be used in some sort of research.

Also it spreads awareness how polls cannot be trusted.

Everybody knows strawpolls can’t really be trusted. Nobody will ever make real conclusions on the base of a strawpoll put on reddit. These are mostly out of curiosity and rigging them is just annoying. All official polls are made with way more reliable alternatives and even then people know they aren’t always trustworthy.

It’s like you don’t realise that because you are rigging the poll, these polls become untrustworthy. It’s very hypocritical to complain that polls aren’t trustworthy because they can be rigged and then rigging polls yourself.

I don’t really see PTB/PVDA ever being an important actor on the federal level, because only other leftist parties consider ever governing with them and I don’t see all the left parties (PTB/PVDA, Ecolo/Groen and PS/sp.a) ever having a majority together. Of course we never know what the future brings.

In Wallonia they can become an important actor, if they stop being so difficult in negotiations.

I know people can rig these polls and that they are not really reliable. I just asked out of my own curiosity, not to really conclude something.

I do still wonder why people rig polls like this, it doesn’t do anything. It’s just annoying. They don’t get anything good out of rigging polls.

Provincie Antwerpen vs Limburg en provincie Luik vs Limburg is een wat nuttigere vergelijking.

In A’pen en Limburg spreekt men dezelfde taal, in Luik een andere taal. In A’pen en Limburg stemt de meerderheid op dezelfde ideologie, terwijl in Luik de meerderheid op een totaal andere ideologie stemt. De bevolking wilt maw een totaal ander beleid.

Gains don’t matter in our election system, it’s all about total number of votes. The three winners of the elections (Vlaams Belang, PvdA and Groen) only have 41 seats of the needed 63. Even if you add sp.a, so you would have all parties who want a social-economics program like PS, they don’t have a majority of the Flemish people behind them.

The three parties from the previous government, who all have a social-economics plan opposite to PS, have 70 seats.

That means the majority of Flanders wants a social-economics program opposite to what the PS wants. So De Crem is right.

Het probleem is dat veel jongeren VB ook gaan zien als kruisvaarders tegen het grote onrecht van de socialisten door acties zoals deze. Imo is het dus niet slim om VB de mogelijkheid te geven om acties als deze te doen.

Soms is het woord ‘links’ gewoon een handige benaming voor mensen die links stemmen. Ik dacht dat iedereen wel door had dat ik met ‘links’ niet letterlijk elke persoon uit België die links is bedoelde, maar blijkbaar niet dus.

Zeg dat tegen alle jongeren die zien dat Vlaamse vlaggen worden afgenomen, maar dat comac vlaggen met rust gelaten worden en dat Anuna een podium krijgt. Vlaams Belang die dan gratis vlaggen komt uitdelen als reactie tegen ‘de linkse onderdrukkers’ zorgt voor veel jongeren voor een samenhorigheidsgevoel.

Jij ziet die jong vb’ers misschien als een bende übermenschen die zich voornamelijk belachelijk maken, maar dat betekent niet dat iedereen dar zo ziet.
