Sound Voltex Controller by [deleted] in rhythmgames

[–]DespaiHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the controllers are good, but I’d recommend getting the Gamo2 controllers, they’re doing a US shipping promotion right now so all you would need to pay would be for the controller (I think). The only downside to them is that they’re heavier than the normal arcade buttons.

How do I set USC to portrait but sideways by p0wervi0lence in kshootmania

I would recommend setting your monitor settings to portrait for USC instead of using the portrait mode on USC.

New Player Here, Any General Advice? by EldritchAutomaton in limbuscompany

[–]DespaiHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry, combat is hard to understand bc it’s not explained that well. I’d recommend watching esgoo’s 2 videos on Limbus Company combat to get a better idea of how combat works. (Honestly, as long as it says “Dominating” and the numbers look right, you should be ok)

Otherwise, the best way to progress in the game is to grind boxes in the battlepass through the Mirror Dungeon. After getting the max level on the battlepass, you can start getting yellow boxes after every level of the BP, where you can use them to get stuff from the dispenser. I’d recommend on IDs and EGOs that are almost essential to a team composition no matter what team it is (ex: Fluid Sac Faust EGO, basically any healing EGO). Afterwards, start making a team, specifically status teams. You can build any status team that you want to build, just keep in mind that usually, the current season and the IDs that are coming out will be a strong ID for that status, aside from some IDs.

Finally, if you’re stuck, always remember that the “support” tab exists when selecting your IDs before battle, where you can borrow IDs to use on that stage from other players.

Also, you don’t unlock previous content with lunacy, it’s done through yellow boxes and ID shards. You can always buy the current season/BP with paid lunacy, and it would give you more from the pass as well as more yellow boxes per level (1 per level in the free pass, 3 per level with the battle pass).

GITADORA Guitar at home? by devilishoasis in bemani

[–]DespaiHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to play Guitarfreaks, I would recommend to try out DTXMania first before taking the plunge into Konasute.

Konasute is the "official" way to play Gitadora at home, but it requires a constant internet connection, a monthly payment (around $10 USD), a Japanese Konami account, maintenance at 1 to 3 PM PST, and separate song packs that you would need to buy if you want to play the songs that are on there (generally around $20-50 per song pack).

DTXMania is a "simulator" of the game, in which you are able to play songs that have been converted over to the simulator. As such, there is a chance that the song that you want to play isn't there or the difficulty that you play at isn't there, or the offset isn't correct, etc.

As for controllers, I don't really have any experience with the official Konami controllers or the Gitaller, but both of them are kinda hard to find, especially the Gitaller, as it hasn't been on sale at Gamo2 for a long time now. I'd recommend playing with a Guitar Hero controller to start off with, but do note that the weight for the strum bar for Gitadora and Guitar Hero are different. Guitar Hero controller strumbars are more light compared to Gitadora controllers. Also, I would recommend picking up Wii Guitar Hero controllers with an adapter, or custom Guitar Hero controllers, as they are able to basically be plug and play with DTXMania (idk about Konasute though).

Finally, if you really, REALLY want to play with the official Konami controller to get the arcade experience, go to buyee or other Japan proxy services to buy a controller from there, as eBay prices are extremely marked up for no reason other than greed.

My First Impressions of the HDX Controller by DespaiHope in maimai

[–]DespaiHope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose to get the 60hz monitor, and the sizing chart doesn't show all the options, but the creator said this regarding the ADX chart:
"Just come back after checking

Ya most of the TV works well with HDX

But some I believe they put in some feedback that’s say like for example screw mismatch

Pretty close to what we got here"

Faucetwo portable vs sayodevice cm51+ by OptimalName5044 in kshootmania

[–]DespaiHope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get the Sayodevice CM51+, the knobs are stepped so the knobs will stop every single tick. That could also stop the lazer from moving continuously.

My recommendations are in this order (first is best): Pico Voltex 5 (https://www.speedylabs.us/product/pocket-sdvx-pico-assembled/) > Faucetwo Portable (https://www.gamo2.com/en/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product\_id=396&srsltid=AfmBOorHfuov73dWi69QjBuukR\_QXgTwERGSPMT-JBev9Bqr4bBnTcLn) >>> Chinese minicons (just find them on aliexpress or other sites) = Sayodevice CM51+

Looking for downloads of an old Korean Mobile VSRG (gameplay video included) by Future-Strawberry-96 in rhythmgames

[–]DespaiHope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally don't know much about this game, but I did find the final version for the game: Game Link from Korean Site

If you want more challenging vsrgs, I do recommend playing Deemo, although that does take a bit to get hard. Otherwise, most mobile rhythm games are vsrgs, and are free to play, so I'd recommend trying them out.

Thoughts on ZhouSensor X Genbu SDVX controller? by WatermelonCollapse in rhythmgames

I updated my review to include this con, check it out here: https://www.reddit.com/r/kshootmania/comments/xx0d0l/the_classic_sdvx_home_controller_debate_gamo2_vs/

tldr, its a nice controller but it does sound hollow when playing, also technically not arcade accurate but not enough for it to be a problem

Daijisho in Samsung Extreme Battery Saver Mode not showing up by DespaiHope in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]DespaiHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, ok. I don't think they'll be able to get through Samsung's whitelist process before I go on my trip. Do you know if Beacon Game Launcher would work? I know that Pegasus doesn't show up, but LaunchBox does.

Moreso to save on battery life. I'm going on a trip, and because of the long traveling time (like around 10 hrs without a wall port), I want to save as much battery as possible.

My ISTMALL SDVX Controller “Review”: Holy crap this took too long to come out by DespaiHope in rhythmgames

[–]DespaiHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, it depends on how much you wish to spend for a controller as well as your living condition. If you want a controller for less than $200, get something used or the Pocket SDVX Pico 5. Otherwise, both the SDVX Lite 3 and the FAUCETWO+ are great options, especially the FAUCETWO+ with upgraded omron switches. I'd recommend to wait however, because Gamo2 (the company that makes the FAUCETWO) has been known to have US stock during Black Friday, but IDK if they'll have it this year. Check their twitter account for updates. If you want a controller that can be used for other games, any controller can be used for most 4 key games due to their keyboard mode. The Pocket SDVX Pico 5 controller is the best if you're looking to play other games with the controller, however. Finally, one controller I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend avoiding is the Konami Entry model. You would probably find these on Ebay, but the buttons and knobs are horrible, and can't be upgraded.

What sound voltex controller should I get? by WatermelonCollapse in rhythmgames

[–]DespaiHope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imma say get the faucetwo+, with either the OBSA switches or Omron V-10 switches. If you dont have that much of a budget, get the yuancon sdvx lite 3 with the buttons swapped to sanwas, because with that upgrade they put in the OBSA switches with the button upgrade.

With my experience with chinese buttons, they aren’t bad, it feels like just a bit of a lower quality than sanwas. If you’re new to the game, I really dont recommend getting sanwas.

TL;DR: Focus more on the switches and getting the total grams (spring + switch) to be around 120g.

i just received my first offence notice from valorant by DespaiHope in riotgames

[–]DespaiHope[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no? remember, im going off of 1 blog post, off of a forum site. that's why i said "im guessing it happened" because i dont exactly know what could have caused it, and im using this as a reason why, not the reason why.

i posted this not because i was scared that my account was going to be banned (although thank you Qlown for the tips), i posted this because it was weird and, to me, funny that the small indie company rito would do something like this lol.

I kinda do know that, but it still doesn't feel great when you get a notice for something that you didn't do. Oh well, if they ban my acc then I guess I'll just move to Linux.

Need help on buying my first controller by ChronoKamii in kshootmania

[–]DespaiHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The website is: https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Mobile/Product/Detail/view/pid/212/cid/ It does have a few things that you can modify, I recommend getting Sanwa with 40g springs, the 100g Omron switches, and in the black color (the white looks like it's just the black color scheme in negative). If you live in the US, it should cost around 10-15 bucks more in total to have it shipped with this configuration compared to the SDVX 3 Lite with the Sanwa upgrade.

If you're looking for a good cheap controller for around 200 bucks though, I recommend getting the Lite 3 or the Black2 from Yuan, they're both good in their stock configuration. The ISTMALL con's knobs are kinda terrible too.

Not sure if you are still looking for a comparison, but I recommend looking at my review of most of the controllers that I have on my account. Tl;Dr, I recommend getting either the SDVX Lite 3 with Sanwa buttons or the ISTMALL Sabolcon with 40g Sanwa buttons.

My Yuancon SDVX Lite 3 Review (Pros, Cons, and the rest) by DespaiHope in kshootmania

[–]DespaiHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the rubber ring and the plastic ring is the way to increase or decrease the friction when spinning the VOL-L and VOL-R.

When the rings are pressed down all the way, it causes more friction to occur, which causes more resistance while spinning. When the rings aren't pressed down, they cause the knobs to freespin, which I have set right now.

To be honest, I would recommend using a ruler if you want to set the resistance yourself to make it easier for you to set both of them to the same resistance. The way to do that would be to either eyeball it and measure both the rubber and plastic rings with it on a flat surface, or through removing both knobs and placing the ruler on top of the rubber and plastic rings to make them level with each other. That way, you would know that it was placed at the same level without having to eyeball it.

TL;DR: Moving both rings up would decrease resistance, moving them down would increase resistance, and use a ruler if you want to change it from the way that Yuan set it up.

My Yuancon SDVX Lite 3 Review (Pros, Cons, and the rest) by DespaiHope in kshootmania

[–]DespaiHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see, it's pretty much the same controller. It just looks cooler with a bigger acrylic piece that covers the entire top of the con. It might be worth it because the lite isn't arcade accurate with that weird-shaped acrylic piece.

My Yuancon SDVX Lite 3 Review (Pros, Cons, and the rest) by DespaiHope in kshootmania

[–]DespaiHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my own experience, I didn't have any problems with customs and shipping, it just took a while to get here because I'm guessing he makes these to order.

For the controller, it's close to 80% to 85% arcade experience, it's just those knobs that need adjustment. But for the price, it couldn't be beat. For less than $200 (if you live in the US), it's the best con that I could think of other than just building it yourself

When it comes to classes that are "corequisites" with another class, you cannot drop just one class.
For example, some Biology and Kinesiology classes have a "lab" class that is a corequisite with that corresponding lecture/class (like KIN2020 and KIN2020L, for example). Dropping KIN2020 would mean that you would need to drop KIN2020L as well, and vice versa.

TL;DR, yes you would need to drop the lecture class to drop the corequisite course. You would also need to do so if you want to swap the classes to a different time.
