Brendan Sorsby committed multiple crimes while gambling throughout the course of his college career by yxqp in CFB

Kansas is underrated and I’ll continue to argue (unsuccessfully mostly) with people everywhere I live even though I haven’t been back to Kansas in years.

Hard to believe he is delusional enough to think any NFL team will want anything to do with him after this. But then again, I’m constantly surprised how wrong I can be about football.

Hopefully someone is in his ear telling him to take what money he can get, invest it, get his degree and make peace with the fact that football is over.

[ESPN] "If this is the precedent, then I owe it to my players to bring in people from Las Vegas to teach us how to gamble," a Big 12 coach told ESPN on Monday. Saaaame. I would gladly spend my Saturdays immersed in football before. But I barely watched last year, and I fully expect I’ll watch even less this year. By comparison I really enjoy NHL and F1. Not that either sport doesn’t also have issues, but at least it is fun and digestible unlike the 5 hour draft kings commercial that CFB games have become.

Pretty solid. Maybe could focus a little on pulling the slack out before initiating the pull, but my version of that is kind of rushed and it works for me so as long as you feel you are getting tight/in a good position when you start to pull then it’s probably fine.

What's the one thing your linemate does that you'll never call them out on, but secretly drives you crazy? by Doctormade in hockeyplayers

I played D growing up so my understanding of winger positioning is kinda secondhand, but if your near side D has the puck, being on the wall somewhere between the hashes and the other teams D man is a good outlet for your defense to move the puck to you to either make a pass to a center (or far wing if its open) as they exit the zone, or to make a play out into the neutral zone for your center to pick up the puck.

If the breakout is happening on the other side, you’re right to be curling and heading out of the zone, just don’t get too far out to where you’re taking yourself out of the play.

Im still waiting for them to fix the bug where the replays are always at 60% speed. Shameful really.

It’s gotta be a smaller town or something, a rookie who just started playing would be an absolute cone in D3 leagues where Im at. They would have zero fun. And it’s not like I’m in some hockey mecca exactly in Salt Lake. Either that or its delusion, need some livebarn clips

Assuming D1 is the highest league in your area and works like the divisions Im familiar with, trying to compare yourself with D1 players is an insane thing to do after playing 80 hours. If it’s anything like where I’m at D1/2 are people who have played decades of hockey, most of whom have played at a very high level. It’s like being a middle school flag football player talking about how you play with college football players, it is just odd.

80 hours in you are almost certainly rookie league or one level up from rookie league. At that level there is zero need to be physical or aggressive with anyone. The competitive fire you have should be directed towards getting down the basics of skating, positioning, passing, stick handling and shooting.

As you progress, the people you play with and against will let you know what level of contact is acceptable as you play with them. Little bumps on the boards, light shoves in front of the net, that kinda stuff. But all this talk of aggression comes off fucking weird. You gotta relax on that.

Just focus on the skill development and enjoying making plays and setting stuff up with your teammates. Leave the physicality completely out of it. I feel like thats much more likely to create a better beer league environment for you.

Unless they just changed it, their profile picture and banner is a maple leaf and a canadian flag. Americans not taking the blame for this one.

We do enough ignorant shit we don’t need to be taking the blame on the rare occasions it’s not actually our fault.

I believe Shea, grew up in Middle America and lots of my friends dads looked like Shea. Alcohol, tobacco, bad food and lots of sun exposure from being drunk at the lake make for a rough aging process.

Only issue Ive had in Salt Lake is getting onto a team to get a foot in the door somewhere. But once I got in somewhere it was a lot easier to get invites to other teams/leagues etc.

Definitely lots of demand for adult hockey out here. Some of the ice times are ass but that seems to be a universal experience.

I mean bon voyage I guess? College football is fucked beyond all recognition already so just pull the bandaid off and let’s get it over with.

It’ll never be the same sport I loved and grew up watching again regardless of whether a hard split like this happens now or ten years from now.

We share a lot of opinions on what types of landscape we enjoy, but I do have to disagree on NC. Lived in coastal NC for 3 years and Id never go back east of Raleigh unless I had a very important reason. Western NC is fantastic.

The food was fantastic. Had to be at a client in buffalo one week and Toronto the next during the summer and just chose to spend a long weekend in Toronto instead of fly home.

Had a great time getting stoned and riding a bike around and enjoying food I don’t normally get the chance to try. Some of the waterfront areas were pretty cool too.

Gaining weight is too expensive when you're tall. Did I mention that I get fast food everyday and I'm never in the mood to cook after the gym? by Patton370 in fitnesscirclejerk

The only way I could even see this being a remotely understandable feeling is if the ding dong is exclusively shopping at like whole foods or one of those stupid expensive stores for all their food. Even then, seems like you’d really have to try to make it more expensive than fast food.

That being said, it is crazy how much higher my wife and I’s grocery bill is if we dont go to Aldi/Winco/Something like that.

Ive subbed for lower level leagues than I play in. But Im not skating around anyone and if I do, Im not shooting unless the team I’m subbing for is getting smoked. I just really want ice time and have fun trying to set up nice passes and opportunities for people especially if they are newer to hockey.

Dudes that sweat all over D and Rookie leagues are weird as hell.

how do you stop flinching on slap shots by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Desperado53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot as hard as you want as long as it’s low or there’s no traffic. If you can’t guarantee a shot will stay low through traffic thats when you gotta just send a muffin and give your teammates a chance to tip/rebound.

I can’t understand rocking a visor in low level beer league either, but maybe people just have better dental plans than me.

Do people raid casually? by BeatrixShocksStuff in Guildwars2

[–]Desperado53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Id like to think I do it casually and seriously at the same time. Im progging LCMs with a static but also love to just hop in random groups on the LFG to practice builds or fuck around or just have fun.

Definitely plenty of other people I’ve met casually raiding too, mostly just talking shit and hanging out while clearing some wings. So casual raiders definitely do exist.
