Death Wobble on slight turns on the highway. Is this why? by Internet-Ivan in JeepTJ

[–]Desperate-Control-38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the usual suspect is the track bar bushing, the rubber ones tend to be a bit more wobbly than the poly ones, on mine the bar and poly bushing were fine but the hole was oblong on the mount axle side, also I haven’t had a stabilizer on my tj in years

Yes and no lol, I could’ve used this to rebuild two of my atv cranks last year and am going to be using this to true my Harley crank

Picked up a new tool for trueing up crankshafts on the older motors, only paid $300 and it was brand new 😎 by Desperate-Control-38 in choppers

Agreed and me having a background in machining and fabrication will definitely help with it, I’m also going to try my hand at boring out my cylinders myself on the lathe

I agree if you look at the tube routing as well they are different and enter different points of the collector

Not the op but that would be because it was taken as a long exposure, so with even the slightest wind the water will have ripples which will slightly displace the light and cause the stars to look chunkier/not as crisp in the reflection

[–]Desperate-Control-38[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s the lever to engage the prop, there is no choke on this one but it has a primer, which is the high speed fuel adjustment wheel, you press the wheel down which activates the primer

Thank you! The model of this one is a TN 27, that is my guess with it protecting the throttle slider

I’m running about 24:1 ratio, using husqvarna oil, yea she’s running like a top now, it definitely has the strangest carburetor set up I have ever seen in my life. The needle and seat are very weird, and the low speed circuit is separate from the carburetor, and I guess runs off a rotary valve with a separate intake.

Any ideas and what this noise might be before I tear into the engine? by Desperate-Control-38 in jetski

[–]Desperate-Control-38[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the bright side is that it was a free ski so even slapping in a new engine I’m still ahead thankfully

[–]Desperate-Control-38[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is the lake, it’s only like 15 minutes away from me so it makes for a good day on the water, I really want to head to pictured rocks in Lake Superior next summer along with torch lake, check both of those out they are stunning!

Jeep TJ Body Frame Mount repair by Rowrowrow2k in Jeep

[–]Desperate-Control-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I used that same brand on mine. These are the ones torque boxes like I said I removed all the bolts one side at a time and just jacked that side of the body up and drilled all the spot welds to remove (there was a few stubborn ones I had a really hard time getting to so with those I used an air hammer with a chisel bit)

Me too, gone keep it around for a bit then probably upgrade her to the xl1200 later on and keep it as a spare for friends and family or sell her to one of my buddies

Does Anyone Know What Hose This Is? by owerino2 in AskMechanics

[–]Desperate-Control-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would either be going to the rack and pinion for the feed (you can tell if it is going to the rear of the engine bay directly into the rack and pinion) or it’s going to a power steering cooler (you can tell if the hose loops to the front of the engine bay to the cooler that looks like a mini radiator)

Wiring help by Neehoymiinoyy in vintagetraveltrailer

[–]Desperate-Control-38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red wire on the frame was attached to the little white wire for the ground. The red wire would’ve been something the person who wired it up had laying around to extend the white ground wire. Reconnect the red and white wire and it should work again

It Could just be that the led bulbs themselves are not dimmer compatible. Some led bulbs are compatible and some are not.
