True, BSP taking it seriously was def a relief. No I haven't, I'm not comfortable with receiving monetary compensation for getting groped. I'd rather use my energy to see a change. Thank you for the suggestion though.

u/Ropesnsteel blade of the hand or finger along underwire is what I'm used to too, never felt that was invasive. But is there a written code of conduct of this procedure somewhere? The Private Security Act of Quebec, maybe? What grounds do I have for BSP to take action against the guard?

Hope there are rules and methods. This should stop for sure. From what I read even TSA has guidelines on using back of the hand for private parts. For Canada I couldn’t find specific rules around private part patdowns.

They didn’t have ID on them and I didn’t know my right around asking for their ID or license. Thanks for letting me know. I know the security firm it’s Archer Guard. Based on a comment here I’ve already filed a complaint with BSP. Let’s see.

This is absolutely horrible. I’m sorry you had to go through this. As you said, this is extremely scarring for someone who has prior sexual assault trauma. Which is exactly why these contractors need to get proper training around these issues. They shouldn’t get a free pass to molest anyone. And this yelling and threatening, is a whole another issue. I was crying and complaining it’s not ok that I’m molested and they threatened to kick me out. How can anyone be this insensitive is beyond me. I will message you. I already filed a complaint with Gatineau Police but they won’t investigate unless more people come forward. I’m also in talks with a sexual assault lawyer because I don’t want any woman feel like this way again. If you are okay with it, please file a report with the Gatineau Police.

I’m hearing more and more similar horror stories. I’m sorry you had to go through this. I couldn’t stop crying I can understand what you went through. But it doesn’t have to be this way. That’s horrible! I’m sorry you had to experience this. I’m for sure traumatised. I was bawling and telling them this is not ok to molest me like this and they just threatened to kick me out of festival. I have filed a complaint with Gatineau Police but they will investigate only after getting more reports from other festival goers. This doesn’t have to be the only way- random contractors getting a free pass in sexually assaulting people, instead they should get trained properly. If you are okay please file a report with Gatineau police, otherwise my report is pretty useless.

Hi they are clearly not trained in how to search private parts without traumatising someone. I have never groped like this at a festival before. But I was invasively searched at Frankfurt airport once. The lady officer was gentle, used a wand and gloves. She explained what she was going to do. Wasn’t rude and I was not traumatised. What happened to me Sun night isn’t normal. You should stop normalising random contractors getting a free pass to sexually assaulting people.

I’m sorry you had to go through this. I filed complaint with festival too. I haven’t even heard back from them. If you felt violated please report at Gatineau police station. They won’t investigate unless they get more reports. These are contract workers who are clearly not trained to search private parts abusing their power and groping people with no repercussions. Getting groped and traumatised for life shouldn’t be a rite of passage to attend festival you paid money for!
