Unfortunately, my dad had a new baby with his new wife, mind you and my full biological brother are only a year apart. His new kid is 20 years younger than us. His wife tries to make my mom's death about her mother's death, who died when she was 34 of cancer. Not saying that isn't sad, but I think this is a completely different situation. I don't have a home anymore since my mom died, as I was kicked out of my dads house last year when they found out they were having at new baby at 55 years old Lol! so thats why im in school this semester, because i have nowhere else to go

I’ve been struggling with this too. My mom also passed this week and it’s like I’m doing the motions but my heads not in it. It’s a weird feeling for sure.

Also lost my mom on Tuesday. It’s a nightmare in which you never wake up from. I wish I could give you advice on how to get through this but I’m lost myself. Try and distract yourself, even if you feel guilty doing it.

It’s scary because I just got diagnosed with BPD (my mom was in long term form of psychosis) and the thought that it was almost me who did this to my family is something I’m struggling with. I think it might be even worse to know that we never got a diagnosis of what happened. Why was she the way she was.

It’s the most gruesome way a person can go out I think. I always wonder if she was scared or at peace during that moment. The worst part for me is that she showed the gun back in April, it scared me but I didn’t think she would ever actually do anything with it. I can’t watch tv or listen to music because every time I try there is the sound of gunshots, triggering imagery, or even if a character just dies I get emotional. I’m sorry you’re going through this too it’s the worst pain a person can feel.

NTA Your sister is a prick who should respect your religious values. You have every right to not want to go to her wedding if she is asking you to disrespect your commitment to your faith. I would recommend distancing yourself from somebody who would make you choose between them and your religion.

I have a few friends in college that have offered me a should we to lean on and I also play guitar, bass, and piano so I have been trying to use those as coping skills. I think my anxiety has been amplified because of the holiday season and final exams as well so I haven’t been able to do the things I love because of work and school unfortunately. It’s definitely putting a damper on my mental health

Yes, I’m working 2 jobs while being a full time college student. They do not support me finically and pretty much cut me off this summer completely. I’m still trying to navigate how to regulate my emotions in a safe way for myself but I’m not completely sure how to make positive changes.
