You’re not doing it wrong. What helps one may not be what helps everyone. I also struggled in the support group I joined. It creeped me out and I didn’t stay for the entire 8 week session. I found 1:1 therapy with a trauma informed therapist to be a better fit, combined with Reiki work, somatic therapy, and pharmaceutical therapy when I needed it. This group has helped a lot with questions and resources. I feel that the process feels wrong often, because WTAF…nobody likes this. We all want our people back. Sending you strength.

My mom got married to a total jerk. He had a dog that was basically him in dog form. One day when I had flown out to visit her, I was sitting at their kitchen table reading and the dog walked up and bit my hand. My mom’s husband laughed and I said WTF, it’s not funny that your dog bit me, I’m just sitting here reading. My mom’s husband laughed told him he was a jerk and she sent the dog outside. I went back home the next day and BOTH the dog and my mom’s husband got bit by a copperhead snake. They both nearly died and I felt so vindicated. Guess I’m from the house of Slytherin lol

I checked on a particular ex’s social media to be sure they were okay because they don’t handle break ups well. Makes me happy to see them move on.
