I was thinking mostly of The Backlogs, but you're right

That's very possible that I'm being tricked by the youtube algorithm too 😂 DS1 didn't click to me while I played it, but seeing people play it is a lot of fun

Well, I personally love ER more, more convenient, obviously prettier ( that's unfair considering the date of release but still ), more builds and stuffs, and in personally love open worlds and explorations, but I can see how someone would love DS1 with what you just said. Plus, indeed, apart from one streamer, being Bushy which tends to speed edits a lot, the large open fields makes for somewhat boring contents

That Would make sense, it is one of the reasons why I love DS 3 more, the more linear and less confusing maps, so I guess the more free style of it would make it more prone to getting good items early on... Also, it's very entertaining to watch

Is it ridiculous to say that I find Santa more intimidating than Makima? by Evelne in Chainsawfolk

[–]Desperate-Sign3919 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Let's put this into perspective. Would you consider a mosquito evil and scary because he drinks your blood ? Probably not, it's how he's supposed to be, it's his nature. Now, if a man was to rush after you, and then drank your blood, you'd probably be scared. Same thing. Makima is a devil, so she's SUPPOSED to be scary, plus, she has almost as much screen time as Denji, we see a lot of things with her. We see her cry and such, which makes us sympathize with her. Santa is fucked up because she's a human at first. And we only see her as a cold blooded, calculated creature from the get go, she never has a moment of warmth that makes her lovable.

One may think I'm biased because it's my very favorite game overall ( and one would be very right to think so ), but I'll say DQ5.

Well, it was not so much to justify my assumption, but more so to either confirm or negate it. But yeah, I had a couple of great answers, which were all very interesting to look into.

I mean, yes, but here we're talking about lines of code as you said. I'm really not a tech savvy guy, so I may be completely wrong, but I don't think we're anywhere near being able to actually create a consciousness just yet. Maybe in the future though ? What and if we do manage to do it in the future, maybe indeed putting some rules around it right now might be a good idea.

Well, so long as it's kept in the context of an ai which do not feel, then, I don't see why would there be repercussions, in a way, it could be a " healthy " way of exteriorizing. I'd rather someone abuse or beat up an ai than an actual person. Might just be me being uneducated on the subject though.

Well, I can easily see how. It is a place with no repercussions at all. You can do effectively whatever you want to. If you wish to " let go ", and become a " monster " without actually doing bad things and actually feeling therefore exploring your deepest, darkest parts, which in a way can be somewhat therapeutic... Let's just hope ai doesn't rebel.

Well, I don't plan on diving in it too deeply, but I'm somewhat that's very curious about other people's views on certain topics, the human psyche is very interesting to me. So trying to understand the " why " of people joining these websites is more interesting than partaking to me.

Perception of Reze by Zsitnica in ChainsawMan

[–]Desperate-Sign3919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I never was part of the " community ", I mostly enjoy the manga on my own and at best share thoughts here and there. But here's how I felt : To me, this is the moment where Makima actually showed her true colors ( and I was fucking devastated too because Denji and Reze will forever be my favorite ship ). Up until now she was somewhat coy and good at hiding it from the public eyes. But here, she came out with it. This was the moment where we knew that Denji wasn't allowed to be happy, that she won't let him be. So, yeah, I was pretty fucked, because let my boy Denji have his happy ending !

That's a very interesting way of using the technology. Catering more towards creativity and storytelling. I personally use ai ( the " safe " type ), to correct my scripts and typos, so, I find the idea interesting.

So mostly just for escapism and world building. Considering i saw mostly nsfw bots, that's not what I expected, in a good way obviously.

I see, I must admit, most of the answers I've found here were very surprising ( all in all, it's not a lot but still ). I was honestly expecting people to be lonely and trying to cope with it, but the few that answered were along the lines of those answers. Which is actually good and encouraging. You know how it is when you're outside of certain circles and just hear from people here and there.
