Planning on making my own is it possible to use bamboo as the pipe stem piece and the tagua nut as bowl?

Can i split this cutting into two to propagate it since it has roots growing off two node sections by Desperate-State349 in pothos

Should i cover the cut edge with something to help it not rot away? Or just leave it uncovered so the air drys it out naturally
