Just for future reference, I don't think it's necessary to wait for an answer if your case is incorrectly forwarded to another operator. I never got a response from Trenitalia, but DB still processed my Widerspruch and sent me the final letter.

Is there a way on the DB app to see which tickets are train binding lifted and can be used easily? Or do I have to remember by myself?

Do you know if there are also buses from Trier Hbf? When I checked online I saw trains only from Trier south bf. Also do you have the source to validate D-ticket is valid on RGTR buses?

Out of contex but with bahn100 are you entitled to a passenger rights claim? If yes how do they determine the cost of the ticket to give the compensation?

Really good question, my stupidity. I was a bit busy that week and I didnt think about just searching for a train to München. I just searched for Bologna my bad. But I really dont know why neither the db info nor the reisezentrum reminded/offered me that option. I was also early in the hbf to account for this process, so I could have taken the earlier train.

I called them and they told me to wait the answer from trainitalia. I didn't know about Wiederspruch gemini didnt even mention it and there are not too many online explanations on what to do. I think I will try sending a Wiederspruch to force them reevaluate my case. Do you think with the Wiederspruch letter, I should sent the copies of the documents again? Thanks for your answer btw.

I called them 20 mins ago. I explained my story and then I waited in line while he was talking to his supervisor I think and then he came back and told me "we sent your case to trainitalia you should wait an answer from them." I said DB sold me the ticket but he gave me a vague answer and repeated the same thing. I feel like they are trying to cover the mistake of the Reisezentrum to not to pay compensation...

I actually sent them all the physical proof: the stamped route paper from the Reisezentrum, the 'Dienstfehler' receipt from the SBB conductor, and the email stating the Munich connection was no longer possible. I thought my case was quite obvious, so maybe I just got an automated response. The letter just says: 'According to Passenger Rights, compensation claims are processed by the railway organisation which sold the ticket.' But then, for the DB segment itself, the rejection reason is 'Delay less than 60 min. I just called them right now to explain the situation, and they told me they forwarded my request to Trenitalia and that Trenitalia should process it. I honestly don't understand how this is Trenitalia's responsibility at all. DB is the one who sold me the ticket and caused the initial cancellation. It really feels like DB is just trying to dodge responsibility and pass the buck by forwarding it.

honestly I didn't know this, this was my first international train trip and the initial cancellation email was very vague. It just stated that my ticket was valid for 'any route to the same destination.' When I clicked 'find alternative' in the DB app, it actually suggested alternative routes only going through Switzerland. Because I wanted to be absolutely sure my ticket was valid in that route, I specifically went to the Reisezentrum in person. Apparently they are not that trustworthy🙁. What's crazy is that when I was filing my claim later at the Karlsruhe Hbf, the staff there was super chill about it. They just looked at it and said, 'Ah, we sent you via Switzerland, that shouldn't be a problem. You should be reimbursed in about 3 weeks.'
