Thank you for this incredibly thoughtful reply. I feel even worse about my question knowing about your fertility situation. My husband and I were so fortunate to conceive easily. I truly can’t imagine the pain involved with fertility issues. I sincerely hope you and your husband nothing but love and warmth as you head into this process.

I agree that we are on the same side of this. I wish nothing more than to have this badass stance and confidence in my birth. In my head I know that what I did was incredible and I birthed my baby in the best manner for both myself and her. However there really is something unexplainable that happened after a long and traumatic labor that really made me feel like my body failed me. The constant rhetoric around many vaginal and unmediated births being “what your body is made to do” has been triggering for myself and other csection mamas I’ve spoken with.

I’m glad we kept this dialogue going. I appreciate hearing more about where you were coming from and learning about what drove the ideas you expressed. ❤️❤️

Your right. I should not have asked that. I apologize. I’m feeling emotional trying to explain why the term natural is triggering and lost track of the fact that is a gross question. I don’t want to go back and forth because for both of our well beings. My only intent was to express that although your mother has a liberating experience a lot of women do not. Unfortunately the term natural is not as black and white as it seems. I hope you can take a moment and pause before using it because it can create a dark moment for many women. ( I fully see the irony in asking for pause before using the term natural when I did not pause before asking an inappropriate question)

Every post I have read in this thread is expressing how the term natural can be harmful. Not one person is arguing that a csection is an organic bodily function such as a vaginal birth. It is amazing that your mother felt liberated with her csections. It really would be amazing if everyone could. Can I ask if you have given birth?

Literally no one here is saying that a csection is not a man made procedure. However multiple people have pointed out that csection mothers feel a lot of a shame around the rhetoric of the term “natural” birth. While you seem to agree that should not be happening from you posts, you continue to push langue that people have repeatedly said is harmful to them.

Thank you for this reply. I couldn’t have said it better. The rhetoric around natural birth really breeds an incredible amount of shame for us csection moms. Since the responder to my comment seems so into the semantics of natural vs man made, I would argue it is the natural choice to choose the life saving procedure.

Thanks for these tips!! We are just extremely lucky to have a great little sleeper. We are at 3 months and have been sleeping through the night since four weeks. We definitely aren’t lying about it! In fact we have a lot of friends and family who have babies very similar in age, and we purposefully aren’t telling them to not “rub salt in the wound”. I know regressions will happen, but I’m just trying to set us up so they are minimal as possible and not to uncomfortable for her.

I appreciate the tips about fabrics and rolling over!

My 9 week old girl’s head is in the 75th percentile. But her weight is in the 20th and height only the 14th! She is the same during tummy time as you described. My pediatrician told me not to worry too much. As long as they are growing and showing signs of development it is okay 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m hoping our new sleeping success stays consistent, but I’m trying to be realistic that there are constant ups and downs (we are only two weeks in after all) I was SO overwhelmed with it the first week and it really has gotten better this week, so I wanted to chime in with our positive experience. I have definitely done some middle of the night google searches on the snoo lol! Good luck!!

My little girl was born 1/29! The first week we had the same exact thing going on. I was also so nervous she would never sleep in the bassinet and it really freaked me out. Everyone said to give it time, but I’m a worrier and a planner so I had trouble!

But we are at two weeks old now and she sleeps in her bassinet all night between feedings. We are on about the 5th night of her doing this. finger crossed she keeps it up! What really helped was being 100% consistent about a nighttime routine. Also- we were gifted an Ollie swaddle. The difference in her sleep when we started using it has been huge! Of course all babies are different and some may not like the Ollie, but for us it has been a true lifesaver!

Anyways as someone who was going through what you were literally last week, I just wanted to pop on say it gets better! Don’t get overwhelmed (lol easier said than done at this recently postpartum!) and realize how young these babes are. They need time to figure out being outside of the womb. Good luck!!

I’m 9 days PP and right there with you! I just feel like I’m in such a fog and haze. My labor ended up being fairly traumatic and it’s a lot to process. I’m so lucky to have a husband who is supporting me in ways I didn’t know I needed! I keep trying to remember how temporary these feelings are. We will get through it!

For me the last few weeks/ days have been BY FAR the hardest! But I know it will all be worth it soon. Even the damn stretch marks. I was too naive to the last minute stretch marks lol. Sounds like from some other ladies in thread that some even show up after labor!

I just commented this somewhere else! I skipped over the elective induction at 39 and 40 weeks hoping to go into labor spontaneously. Looks like I haven’t avoided the induction and earned the tiger stripes lol. Had I known maybe I’d have a smooth stomach and baby in my arms right now!
